Do you worry about educating or blowing out bucks while scouting?

Suprised at the responses and I have to agree I think most people get too agressive on scouting they go until they see animals.(Responses here go with my thinking) Now from far away you can safely glass them that's fine but most people go potting around in the area and put all the animals on...

    First rattlesnake of the year

Ya I hate them dang things. Kill some every year but especially hate when I crawl up under a baler to grease it and they are up in there. That would make a preacher swear. I really don't like snakes but I don't kill bull snakes all others usually get head chopped by a shovel or pistol comes out.

    Trophy Taker Smackdown or Ripcord??

Kinda depends on you style of hunting. I actually use ripcord but I also do some stalking by crawling on my belly drawing the bow while down and rotating it up ready to shoot . Most the time the smackdown allowed the arrow down but once in a while it would hang up on the side by the pad that was...

    Muley nightmare

LOL man I usually have those the night before season not in May!! funny enough last year(night before the season) I dreamed I pulled the limbs off my bow when I drew back. Elk; When to Call & When not to

you summed up my thoughts from years ago perfectly. I just never had observed it but thought exactly as your describing. And speaking of those solitude bulls they are hard to find easier to find a bunch of elk than a single elk.haha

Elk; When to Call & When not to

Odd wondered about this a couple years ago I swear the herd bull stayed in the dark timber while the rest of the herd hit the park to eat. Now he may have come out in the middle of the night I can't tell you that but I know first thing he was already in the timber half way up the mountain I...

After rereading my post I didn't mean I had been doing this longer than anyone else I will whole heartedly agree most people you meet back in there are polite and not wanting to interfere. just stating that it has increased recent years and is becomming harder and harder to not see another human...

Should I hunt Mule Deer and Elk at the same time

The way I see It if you have only an elk tag you'll see big deer if you have only a deer tag you'll see big elk. If you have both this ensures you won't see any legal animal to take and will be plagued with bears and spikes Ha ha. In all seriousness I say go for both that way you can be an...
