I’ve used the briksdal SF on a sheep hunt in south wrangells of AK. Saw just about everything:Glaciers, scree fields, forest and swamps. They worked great for me and the stiffness was appreciated on the ice/scree. Not sure what location/terrain you are hunting, but you may not need that stiff...
For those with wood or synthetic stocked weatherby Camilla’s, could anyone tell me the stock weight? Wondering if the bell Carlson is heavier than the wood version. Thanks
I personally really like tikka action and have built two semi customs on them. Both are sub half moa. I think it comes down to what action you like and stock you like. Tikka paired with allterra stock is my personal choice. I built one with a proof carbon barrel, the other I put a superlite...
I can tell you that superlite models are Exactly 3.6 ounces lighter than their standard lite counterparts. That’s the difference between two take off stainless barrels both chambered in 270win. Magnums have 24” barrels (and some 6.5cm) but the flute length on all of them is the same as on the...
Marmot featherless are pretty awesome for a synthetic option. Typical downside of synthetic (bulk, weight) but have proven way warmer than most other hunting synthetic puffies of the same Weight.
All Sounds good. I would go with a 22 inch barrel. You’re still get great performance out of the PRC and I’ll be much handy or for Treestand hunting back east. No experience with a gunwerks action, and I generally see actions as “just pick the one you like.”
Marlin xl7 in 25-06. Think I bought it for $270 out the door. First bullet/powder combo o tires it shot consistently .3-.4 moa groups. Killed several critters with that gun, but eventually sold it…….that I can’t for the life of me remember.
@Ram94 Curved as in a slightly subdued arc on the weatherby mark v carbon stocks and on gunwerks clymr. But not a Monte Carlo style stock. It did not sound like the original would be available as a component. But they are going to still make/use it on some of their own rifles. That’s what...
I chatted with them at sheep show a bit on this topic. They have a new stock design they plan to release as a component in the near future. Has a slightly curved comb, grip to trigger sitance is slightly shorter, and integrated forend rail similar to gunwerks clymr. I liked the shortened...
I think everyone has covered it. Hunting pack, school bag, or trash bag: they don’t care what it is as long as it fully fits underneath the seat. If it doesn’t, be prepared to pay to play. Just follow airline posted limits. Or look up the under seat storage spec for the specific model of plane...
