Another vote for Criminal podcast. They have a lot of great episodes.
If you want something more on tech side of things, Darknet Diaries is really good to. While Darknet Diaries has an interview component, the majority of episodes are focused around a specific event or job.
I have an older Ultimate Direction Mountain vest. It's about 12 liters and holds everything I need for most day hikes/runs. I recommend getting the soft flasks with the longer nozzles. It makes drinking with the bottle in the vest easier.
212.8 this morning. Been off the diet wagon lately, but continuing to log miles and get some solid exercise in. Still on track to hit 210 by September 1.
I find I'm pretty basic while out in the field whether it's hunting or backpacking. Generally, I follow more low carb, so my foods are:
Summer Sausage
Nut Butters (Justins Almond Butter/Peanut Butter with Honey)
Trail Mix (homemade - almonds, cashews, pistacios, macadamia, craisins, avoid the...
I have an XL North Face Base Camp bag. It's been going strong for 10 years. I wouldn't leave it in an uncovered truck bed for a week, but for transporting gear it's great. No organization, it's just a large cavern of storage.
If you wanted something that can be exposed to the elements, I'd...
I think the MSR Windburner is the only other jetboil/knockoff system that is similar. Otherwise, I've found a 750ml pot is able to hold a small canister and stove inside. My personal cook kit is a Toaks 750ml pot with a Soto Amicus stove. I wrap the stove in a bandana to keep it quiet while...
213.8 this morning. Goal is 210 by September 1. I had a good weekend of riding and running (34+ miles). One week on an animal based diet with only one drink Saturday evening. Sleep is getting better, and no soreness from the two long days of exercise.
@twall13, that is an impressive year coming together! I know what you mean about the mountain bike miles feeling like cheating, but miles are miles!
End of July update: I've been struggling through June and July. I'm a little behind on miles and more than I'd like on vert. Strength is...
August 1 check in - 217.4. I was going to try pushing through being dehydrated to hit 210, but it wasn't worth it. I'm still down 13.4lbs over 3 months. Going to try to get to 210 by September 1.
FWIW, Paul Saladino and his company Heart and Soil are doing an Animal Based 30 challenge for the...
I ordered the Stan Onnex Hinge and Thumb releases from Lancaster. Had the hinge in my hands within 3 days. The Thumb release was backordered but it only took about a week and a half to get.

We live in an age where marketing has changed so much. Now, it's much more advantageous to send a few influencers the latest gear and let them do the marketing. We're constantly hammered with how much better the latest gear/tech/materials are compared to last year.
As others have mentioned...
Dropped to 213.8 this evening after my run. Only a few pounds to to go my August 1 goal of 210. I'm still thinking of trying to get to 200 by October for my Grand Canyon run.

I just switched to a handheld release this year after shooting an index for years. I jumped over to a hinge and recently tried switching back to the index just to see.
Index was nice for not having to hold anything while drawing back. Otherwise, the consistency of my anchor point, and overall...
For 2-3 day trips, I'll put each day's food in a gallon zip lock bag. I have my food for the day in a dry bag along with my stove, pot, and spork. I don't bother with repackaging since space isn't too much of a concern on the shorter trips.
For 4 days and beyond, I'll still have each day in a...
