I have a a Knight and hale run n gun 200. Works well for what I need. The pack on the back is pretty small, it just barely fits a lightweight rain jacket plus a few other small items (Knife, tp, snack bar)
Coming from a mountain biker, you don't want a giant padded walmart seat, that will make it worse on extended rides. A good seat isn't determined by lots of padding, its how the seat/rails are designed to ride on your tail bone.
The WTB recomendation from above is good, I also like deity...
Paria Outdoors makes a 15 degree down bag.

I don't have any experience using it. I found it on a backpacking channel while researching to get my first packable...
I'm a fan of the older lone wolf hang on stands. They rebranded to Novix tree stands now. I think they are a good option. I run the lone wolf alpha (now novix echo). I will say the seat pad isn't great after a few hours, otherwise it's a nice stand.
I'm considering switching to the novix helo...
Are you wearing it solely as an outer layer? Or are you layering another jacket on top once the temps dip? Or both? Just curious what you like about it that will make it your go to.
I've read a few places people have been unimpressed for the price on the wind pro fleece. How's the thickness of the kenai compared to the fleece? I.e. if you layered an insulated whiteteail jacket over the kenai would you be the marshmallow man?
Curious if anybody has any experience with the kuiu kenai vs wind pro fleece as an outer layer and/or as an insulating layer.
I will use it mainly for Whitetail tree stand sits in SW PA, but would like packability as I hang and hunt 0.5-1 mile deep and may pack it on mobile hunts.
I run a similar setup but with a hang on stand and different frame/bag. IMO You're going to have a strong scent profile at the bottom of the tree anyways from setting up, leaving stuff at the bottom of the tree is ok.
Have you considered doing it the other way around? Use ski pants for hunting. They do good at blocking wind and water, typically they have leg zips to vent heat. It mainly depends on what you want out of them as a hunting pant. I.e. less noise, better packability, weight.
I'm hunting primarily...
I have a ridge wallet, I like it. Carries cards well and fits comfortably in the front pocket.
Biggest draw back is you can't carry much cash. Anything more than a few bills makes it sit funny in pockets.
A little late to this thread, but I was waiting to post until I had some experience with my new harness.
Long story short I wanted the ability to shoot 360 deg (almost) like the saddle hunters can, but I didn't want to buy a whole new setup, I have a lone wolf hang on. Tactisaddle makes a...
