I have been using a Big Agnus Seedhouse 2 tent for the last 2 years and love it. I know the tent is an older model and not the lightest on the market but Big Agnus has some new models out that are much lighter. The thing I like about a tent like the Big Agnus is the versatility it offers. The...
I will be interested to see what is posted here. I know that every little imperfection in your form is only magnified out past 40 yrds. I was once told not to let my bow down until you hear the arrow hit the target, and you need to really watch the hand torque on your release. Shooting with an...
I have some question for all you floorless guys. Do you use bivys for your bags or some type of floor for your tipi? I have a Seedhouse2 with the option to pitch it without the tent but have been hesitant to do so worrying about moisture on my bag. I have a floor for my tent but have never set...
This is a great site and I have found some really good information on here. I would like to see some videos, I need the off season entertainment, as the company gets bigger. It would be cool to have the first video cover the Mule Deer Project from gear selection to preparation to the hunt. Just...
I will agree with Arrowslinger if you want something that is accurate you need the chest strap. I have and use everytime I workout a Polar with a strap that you can download you data to the computer and keep track of your workouts. I think I paid $100 for mine.
I have a pair of Meindls as well I do love them now. I also have a pair of Lowa Zephyrs. I use the Zephyrs for very early season and scouting and the Meindls for later in the season of if I am packing in more than a couple of miles. I thought I would never get the Meindls broken in but not that...
I know Folgers makes some coffee in a tea bag. It is way better than the old instant stuff and is already in a convenient crush proof light weight packable container. It is what I used when I had to have coffee hunting.
Not specifically for hunting but hunting had something to do with it. I quit drinking caffeine 2 ½ years ago. I was drinking 2 or 3 cups of coffee, 2 or 3 huge glasses of ice tea, and soda every day. Do not kid yourself I suffered horrific headaches, fatigue, and to quote my kids and students...
High school teacher. I currently teach architecture and engineering but have taught PC repair, welding, small engine repair, and general shop. In my spare time I own a word of mouth residential design business. Teaching high school makes archery season tough as we are just getting back in the...
I run on an empty stomach I do not want to lose my breakfast. However eating when I get back is my top priority. I will usually have a fruit smoothie (1 cup of frozen mixed berries, 1 frozen banana, 1 scoop of protein powder, and 6 oz. oj). After I get cleaned up I will eat a couple of eggs or...
I am a runner I will log 6-8 miles a day 5 days a week and throw in a 10 miler every now and again. I can see my sheep unit from my running route talk about motivation. I keep a spread sheet and track my distance, time, carbs, and calories during my run. To help with this I use the app map my run.
I went with the GT Kinetic 400's with 100 gr. slick trick magnums, and blazers. Each arrow comes in at 405 grs. I shot last weekend in the great weather (HA HA) we had here in the Front Range area and the wind did not do much to them. I had a harder time holding my bow steady in the wind. Thanks...
I thought I would post these pics from my drive home today after spending the weekend in the Colorado mountains. My wife took the pictures around 4 pm this afternoon. What a great way to end a great weekend with the family.
I am with Les. I have tought about just using the rain fly and foot print of my SL2 along with a bivy sack but do not want things on me at night. The tent w/ foot print is 64 oz. If I go the route of fly, foot print and bivy I think I would only save a few ounces and to me the cost for those...
Daniel,
Great to hear your progesss. Having a place to tell of your successes or talk about your frustrations is just as important as having a great workout. We all need the support system.
Ethan,
I wish I had a majic bullet for you, but I do not. keep up the good work. At 300 pounds a 38 min...
