I wish you luck. I had a very similar report. I ended up with 2 sx and 18 months of rehab. At month 10 I asked to have my arm removed at the shoulder.....it was AWFUL.
If you are working on your dominant hand, start wiping off side and thank me later.....or go 100% carnivore.
Mine was done...
If a person shoots a peep enough they will automatically learn to shoot for "the middle of the middle". My palma gun has an insert that just outlines the target....the aperture just outlines the globe. I started with busy inserts and moved on to a very simple one after learning the sight well.
I have shot 420, 460 and 495 gr no excuses from my 48 and 28 twist guns. Both shoot it well. I loaded some 420's for my friend who was using a vortek strikerfire 24 twist and he printed a group producing one big hole at 100. He immediately switched to swiss and lead.
Ps, a heavy 45-50 cal bullet will push through a lot of elk before it stops. I sent one lengthwise through a whitetail and for all I know it's still orbiting earth. When bullets slow down, so does upset. The meplat on a full bore will still tear a hole and normally stops on the off side hide.
I...
I shoot a no excuses in 50 and do it well enough that I will bet anyone lunch that I can out shoot them to 500 yards if they are using irons, a dot or 1x scope.
The full bore is heavier and slower, it requires more consideration to elevation correction....but with the long time of flights we...
Have you ever shot a springer? I have a RWS 48 which is very fast and accurate and LOUD. I have been kicking around the idea of a 25-30 cal pcp myself but have been around one zero times to compare the noise.
Try chomping down on a simmons broadhead.....wait, you won't. The bow is a better tool. It keeps the dentist out of the equation.....you may end up at the therapist when the damn bird flies off with $40 worth of arrow though.
I just made #175 burger and #75 of sausage. I keep the best, grind the rest....except lately I've been making 30 pounds into chile Colorado every year and freeze drying it.
Jewell makes a great trigger but if you are chasing max velocity and blank or pierce a primer you are in the Achilles heel of that trigger. Guys that push cases to death should not pursue Jewell. Most trigger failures happen at very low sear pressures. Guys chase 2# triggers and then wonder why...
John, I mount an awful lot of scopes and haven't crushed a tube in at least 20 years. I figure if I can chamber a barrel and true up an action....mounting a scope should be within my capabilities.....but explaining it apparently isn't.
I love the internet.
Tony Boyer's book has a very comprehensive explanation of scope mounting. If you don't know who he is, he's the best of the best in the world. He even has a chapter on scope pillar bedding.
I have several. Mine have been nearly perfect. I had a zero shift when I lost a rifle that took a 6 foot fall onto blue ice.....but I can't verify if it was scope, mount or gun that moved....but I had a zero shift of about .75". I have them on 300win, 300rum, 223ai and 6.5x284.
I buy them...
