This is really helpful. NC humidity and temps are looking like the culprit here from what people are saying. Looking back I probably would have been better just wearing my core hoody and nothing else and just getting wet. Maybe putting the jacket on after getting in stand and cooling off...
I’m probably just inexperienced in this area, that’s probably why it’s throwing me off to see that much moisture buildup

I’m hoping this is the case and not the goretex itself failing to stop rain from the outside. I might just have to really rethink my approach to rain gear while moving in warm weather.

I’m sure I could, I just want to make sure it’s the goretex and not my sweat before returning it. REI has a great return policy, so that doesn’t concern me

I bought an REI goretex rain jacket recently on sale, and yesterday was the first time I really got to test it out.
I was walking to my stand location and had the jacket on along with my pack and my stand, sticks etc. It wasn’t a downpour, but just a steady medium

I have an Eddie Bauer evertherm hooded jacket that I’ve really loved. It doesn’t have baffles like a traditional down jacket; it’s like a thin layer throughout the whole thing. Not sure if that’s a real benefit or anything, but I like it.
It’s pretty warm, has held up for over 4 years now and...
Yeah I really don't have much experience with dialing, so I may need to consider something with a little more punch. What about buying a chassis and building the rifle from there?
I definitely don't want to get caught up on it so bad that I go through several rifles trying to find the LOP unicorn haha. I'm considering finding a stock like you mentioned with more adjustability and adding an action and barrel from there. Is that something you would recommend? I honestly...
That's great info, thank you. I'll take some measurements and see how far off I am and go from there. I may be better off going with a chassis that's more adjustable and then whatever action suits me. I'm open to other calibers though. My hope is that I can get a rifle that will get me by a...
Hey I'm not above a savage 110. I'm finding that it's pretty hard to find an oem stock with much adjustability, so that rifle won't be out of the question
