    YHM R2. Direct threaded. It does a good job with noise & I’m happy with it for the price. However, not sure I’d recommend after their recent warranty shenanigans & it’s a bit heavier than others. I’d consider spending just a bit more since you’re basically stuck with it for life.

    Fusions are good to go. I’ve shot deer with them with 270 308 3006, most within 100 yards. They held up but left a big hole and all passed through. Keep us updated on your father in laws success !

    I’ve only been once but we had 3” BBs and the birds were skittish & high. We were glad to have the extra umph of a bigger pellet I’m definitely no snow expert though.
