I think you're onto something. Given the specs on paper, it should have considerably more loft than it does. I think the baffles are sewn "tight" such that they don't allow the down to loft and do its job.
I'm not sure about the amount of down in the OR jacket, but I do know the total weight is only 2 oz more than the Skre. I've got several down puffies, ranging from 650fp to 800fp. They all have considerably more loft than the Skre.

Thank you! I believe this jacket is supposed to have just under 5 oz of down fill, in which case it should have a good amount of loft. I've had great dealings with Skre so I'm sure they'll make it eight.
Quick question for those who have this jacket. I ordered one and got it in the mail today. It has VERY little loft. I'll attach a pic of the sleeve of the Ptarmigan beside an older Outdoor Research puffy. The OR is 800fp and within 2 oz of weight of the Skre.

I just had these pit zips installed by Tailor Studio in Castle Rock. The lady keeps odd hours but I was super impressed with quality of her work. If you're in this area she does great work. Cost was $30.
