I have the X24 and it's been great. Works well, easy to use, good volume, and remote range.
I've killed some coyotes (mostly at night with thermal) and still learning. It's a lot of fun!
Mine sit in a case somewhere in my storage room. I don't think I even have a stereo or way to play them now.
If I want to listen to music that's on those CDs, I'll just put them on a spotify playlist and stream it.
Trying to find a difference between 0.1 gr is likely not going to happen. If 58.6 shoots to your satisfaction, I'd go with that. I don't worry about seating depth either. I start .020" off the lands and that's usually where I'm at in the majority of my rifles.
You will be chasing your tail...
Everyone's definition of "long range" varies - for me, I think 750 yards and out is getting pretty far, especially on game. Where I typically hunt, we have a lot of wide open areas, including several canyons.
Addressing the mono use - I hand load and like to try different projectiles. The...
Probably trophy stage, but haven’t seemed to have killed any trophies yet haha. At this point, I’ve killed enough bulls and I’m fine with eating a tag if I don’t see the bull I’m after. I enjoy getting out, exploring, and seeing animals.
I’ve had my son out with me a couple times this season...
Killed 4 animals last year with the 267 Hammer HHT from my 338 RUM. This year, my 7 SAUM and 145 LRX had accounted for 4 animals.
Both have performed well enough. Haven’t shot extreme distance on game (longest was 580 yards), but all have been pass throughs and little to no tracking involved...
Where does your friend live and any particular states he's looking to hunt? Wyoming still has left over cow tags for sale - these aren't landowner tags, but could still hunt.

I have a few antlerless WT tags for Wyoming still, but not sure I'll make it down before the season ends (damn family Thanksgiving trip haha). I'll shoot the remaining hunting rounds (74 gr Hammer HHT) and then toss the thermal on my 22 Creed. Anxious to shoot a few coyotes with the 62 ELDVT...
Like others above, practice in the offseason is going to pay a ton when it counts. I try to get prone if possible, but if I can't try building support with poles up front/tripod and using your pack for a rear support.
First off - I’m glad you eventually found him. It’s a great buck!
I agree, there’s no way an arrow deflected like that on a broadside shot. With how it deflected, it was quartering, likely more than you thought.
Sorry to see it played out that way, but it is what it is. Again, glad you found...
Sorry to hear how it all played out - I haven’t drawn any LE or OIL tags, but I’ve heard the pressure of the tag can be a lot. Keep your chin up and if you can make it back out before the season ends, tag a ram that makes you happy (monster or not).
Best of luck! You’ve got a lot of guys here...
