    Silencerco Scythe TI review

Interesting... nice to get a reply. Still on the fence about picking one up due to these recent failures. Thinking TBAC would be the painless way to go.

    Painless load development (mine)

Tried this out with my 338 RUM and the 250 Norma GTX the other day. Checked for pressure since it wasn't a published combo and loaded where I thought I was safe. 5 shots at 100 yards and adjusted the scope. Moved to the 300 yard steel (furthest my local range has) and was stacking shots on top...

Howa Mini Rifles, Builds, and Upgrades

I haven't spent a ton of time behind my 6 ARC mini yet, but it's showing promise. I'm going to have it bedded in a few weeks when a local gunsmith is back in action after hunting season. I figure it'll eliminate any variables while working up a load. So far, factory 108 ELDM has shot the best...

    Yet another Fierce Firearms Issue...2024

Wow, that sucks. Sorry you're going through this hassle. Like others mentioned, it's pretty simple/quick to check torque on action screws, scope base/rings, etc. I'd check those to make sure there isn't anything obviously loose then send it back to them. You bought the entire system - it should...

    Silencerco Scythe TI review

Definitely curious to hear what they say regarding the failures. I have plans to snag one for my Howa mini 6 ARC, Seekins Element 6.5 PRC and possibly a lighter 300 PRC. It’d be nice to see this addressed first though.

    Acquiring Landowner Permission via Letter

Letters certainly can’t hurt and will save you time. However, I do think handwritten is better than printing. My family gets hammered for access to hunting, especially during the season. It gets old, but personally, I’d rather talk to someone in person than get phone calls, voicemail, and texts.

H4350 @ Bass Pro and Cabelas

I use Active Junky quite a bit and buy primers/powders for the discount and pick up locally. Scheels is always 7% and I’ve received the whole 7% for several firearms as well as reloading components. AJ with cabelas has been hit and miss. For firearms, it’s super low (like 1%). Bought some TMKs...

    Mono pass through?

4 animals this year with the 145 LRX out of my 7 SAUM. - Bull elk 415 yards - Whitetail buck 350 yards - Whitetail buck 580 yards - Mule deer buck 315 yards All were pass throughs. Most impressive was on the elk. First shot through lungs and he was standing and looking sick. He was now...

    Stockys recoil pad issue

It’s a known issue happening in the Rokstok thread.

    Euro mount costs.

My friend in Wyoming charges $150 for deer and $200 for elk.

How many people are happy with their Howa Mini?

The Howa mini isn’t perfect, but it’s been ok for the money. I put mine in a Stockys VG. Clipped a coil off the trigger spring and have the trigger down to ~ 2 lbs. I’m going to bed the stock and clear the barrel channel out a bit more before I get too serious about chasing accuracy.

    Silencerco Scythe TI review

Dead Air was having several issues with failures due to weak welds a year or two ago I was aware of the Dead Air issues, but hadn't heard about Gunwerks. I have two of their steel cans, makes me glad I didn't go the Ti route for those. Hopefully the Scythe issues will be sorted out soon...

Those failures are definitely concerning… was thinking I’d go purchase one of these soon but may hold off for a bit.

Super dirty brass suppressed AR10 platform

My 6 ARC brass shooting suppressed is absolutely filthy. I've just chalked it up to the suppressor and never worried about it.

.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

I reached out to Sierra recently - 95 TMKs should be hitting the shelves in mid Jan.

Fix it Sticks or Wheeler FAT wrench?

Have both, prefer the fix it sticks. Easy to toss in the range bag. The FAT is nice for those odd torque values like 18 in/lbs for rings, etc.
