    Ultra light hunting rifles

No point unless you specifically want the little chamberings a kimber actions lighter anyway. In saying that in a rifle the weight of a kimber I'd stay as small a chambering as possible. The howa minis mags suck but with a Jefferson conversion they are maybe the best shootable mostly factory...

Is a 5" suppressor perfect for the 22CM?

Depends on what you want to be fair most cans in NZ are 4 inch forward or less and "reflex" 4inchs plus overbarrel. A 6 inch forward can in NZ is a long can compared to typical. But I guess we don't has tax stamps and regularly run aluminium suppressors so it's a bit of a different market.

    The 22UM

What knowns don't I have that would give a significant change in the velocity to pressure ratio? Case capacity and chamber dimensions make minimal pressure differences. If the 22 creed chambers are within saami spec and the 22um is just a necked down 6um which I used the reamer spec for modeling...

    Ultralight Ultralight Rifles

OK that's not as terrible as I thought. Could just be a powder bullet combo it doesn't like. My faxon used to do 10 rounds of both the fiochhi and hornady 55 vmax loads under an inch and 73 elds and Varget into 1-1.5moa. Never did find anything to outshoot the factory vmaxs and they killed a...

    Ultralight Ultralight Rifles

How bad in inchs? I'd check barrels tight. The nut can bottom out and the barrel extension can be just a little loose. Some people have mentioned it in this thread. FWIW my gas gun faxon pencil was my 2nd most accurate rifle when we lost our semis.

    The 22UM

OK that's exactly where get puts its or there abouts powder choice dependent. I run hot loads not calling it out. Any high quality brass except nosler or peterson I've been able to run 70-75kpsi long term and no loose any cases prematurely. The sig hybrid brass interests me when you see how much...

    The 22UM

For predicted results from powder charge yes absolutely for correlating velocity and pressure no it takes a large change in powder capacity or presuure to make a seriously different velocity.

    The 22UM

For a reference point GRT puts an 88 eld at 22-250AI at 68kspi to hit 3400 in a 25" barrel with RL26 and 70k by 3430. In a 20" it puts you around 3170fps at 65kpsi. @Formidilosus What do you think the UM is running at pressurewise? Whilst GRT is a guide only it does suggest that the 22UM doing...

Factory Tikka 223 Magazine Extended Coal

Just got done extending the mag on my 223. Extended it to be able to running 2.5" cartridges. Have it running as reliably a factory plastic 223 mag I have to compare maybe a little bit better actually. A brief overview is I trimmed the upper metal tab and rebent the lower tabs to be shorter by...

    Sig Zulu6 PRO (NEW GLASS)

Objective has no/minimal effect of FOV. Length of the optic (well actually focal length) and obviously zoom has significantly more effect. You will find typically the smaller objective actually have more FOV. Ie 8x42 nls vs 8x32 nls. The 32 have more FOV. On a second note i have NLs but I find...

    IT Band Issues with knee

Oh I'm not arguing that its definitely important and starting to form the habit now before it become even more important. I was more joking around that a few posts that sounds like they thought I was much older. Clearly it matters at my age as its started causing me issues. (y)

    IT Band Issues with knee

Also thanks for all the content in this thread people. I'll try and perfect a routine that works and that's sustainable as I'd like to start future proofing my mobility as this is a bit of wake up call I'm not 20 anymore and I'll have to work to be able to do the stuff I do.

    IT Band Issues with knee

Too clarify I don't think I said anywhere my age but I'm only 28 people 😅 but I've started a strengthening program primarily body weight as well as some targeted stretching to try gain some mobility and release a fee tight muscles that are clearly guarding. One thing my PT noticed I'd that I...

    The 22 creedmoor thread

Absolutely not. If the speed you want can be reached in the barrel length selected there's no reason to step up, extra velocity on the high end gains very little. If your always in the open and want the speed go longer but 20 is not "too short"

    IT Band Issues with knee

Have you had IT band issues @B_Reynolds_AK , I'd say sheep country is closest to what we hunt here? To clarify to everyone I've seen a PT and had an MRI for diagnosis. Initial thoughts where a torn meniscus but MRI showed it was fine and confirmed it was IT Band. Have some stretch's to work...

    IT Band Issues with knee

So just this year I've started having terrible flare ups with my IT band and multiple months rest has not been effective. I live in NZ and we have 365 a year hunting so being of my game has been pretty depressing. Luckily its been winter and not my favorite period to be out chasing stags but...

    Q&A Leupold Mark 4HD 2.5-10x42mm FFP TMR

Potentialy the test is not for ability to hold zero and passing is a lesser standard ie you could rezero it.

    The 22 creedmoor thread

Well if they only make a 218 bore get another barrel. Edit: maybe that's a bit harsh but a tighter bore will increase the likelihood of blowing up bullets. A mate here with a 22-250 in an 8 twist was blowing up 77 tmks running well below creedmoor velocities and the tmk have a thicker jacket.

    Mtn gear bipod

Haven't run the new ones with Aluminum but have ran the original for about 2 years and that breakage suggests side loading or a material issue to me. Have you talked to Matt? Its an ultralight bit of kit. Its not for everyone and while there's definitely some play in it its all taken care of...

    Ultralight Ultralight Rifles

Yeh we have a few options like that but they are expensive especially considering they aren't light and most it would require being swapped out. The proprietary pins etc would have to be completed prior to coming into NZ to which becomes a pain. I was going to build a ground up custom single...
