I love this bow but it's time for it to go to a new home. I had a minor mis-fire that involved a broken nock. Completely my fault. The bow has a clean bill of health but the cams bent....well, more of a flat spot. I was told that's pretty much what happens with these bows when they are dry...
Older aluminum double bow case. Interior dimensions are 49 1/2" x 16". This is a burly case! The gentleman I bought it from has traveled around the world with it. I bought it sight unseen and didn't realize how large the case is so it doesn't work so well for the shorter bows I shoot.
$150...
I bought some weather resistant plastic bins for camping once thinking sealed would be great for rain, bugs, etc.....ended up putting some vent holes in them because they would just get condensation inside as the day warmed up. I've just gone back to the basic yellow topped storage bins.
Probar Meal (Superfood Slam and Superberry and Greens), hard salami or jerky and Mountain House. If I'm hunting from the truck I bring my own home made bars along with an apple.
Like WoodBow said....no need to look for the cock vane when nocking the arrow with 4 fletch. I switched to 4 for that reason alone. One less thing to think about. None of us can shoot well enough for 3 or 4 fletch to make a difference in arrow flight.
I've found learning more about butchering in general (not just wild game videos etc.) has helped a ton. There's a ton of hunting related stuff out there and some is good, others (most) is not. The information put out there by professional butchers is super useful.
Advice I'd give is:
- Take...
Put one earplug in. Don't know why it works but for some folks it's magical. My wife discovered it on a sailboat once upon a time.....funny thing is she had to put the earplug in one ear when she got on land after a week afloat. She was fine the whole time on the boat. Took her a few days to...
I just make my own. Dates, seeds and nuts ground up in the meat grinder mixed with dried fruit and egg whites. bake it for a half hour or so and cut into bars. I can't bring myself to buy pre-made bars when they advertise things like "only 5 ingredients"....I figure if they are so simple then...
Oh, I don't know. If the chamber is empty and both hands are on the rifle at all times I don't see much problem. Personally, I always hunt with an empty chamber until I am setting up for a shot or sitting and watching the woods. I've been told many a time that I'm chancing missing an...
The reliability vs MPG consideration is pretty real. My wife used to have a 2002 VW Jetta Diesel..... That thing cost us more than twice the money (if not 3x) to keep on the road as my high mileage Sequoia that I bought with 192,000 miles on it. Twice the MPG..... but I don't think we saved...
I've had chronic metatarsalgia for years. I found putting pads in my shoes helped greatly. I put them just behind the painful areas to provide pressure release. They make ones you can buy on Amazon or elsewhere but I just cut up some old insoles and used leukotape. I also never walk around...
