You must not understand that velocity is part of the calculation for kinetic energy (KE). Yes, most hunting bullets have a recommended minimum impact velocity, for expansion initiation. However, the KE calculation squares the velocity...so, you're not going to get one without the other... the...
To make an apples-to-apples comparison, we need to use the same bullet loaded in factory ammunition and keep all of the environmental and rifle configurations the same.

If you’re determined to use any of the following cartridge/bullet combinations, I don’t think it matters which one you use. They are all inadequate and will result in similar probabilities for wounding loss or an unnecessarily slow and unethical kill.

I'm reposting a response I made in another post....in regards to this same idea. Specifically, using a 6.5 Creedmoor for Alaskan moose hunting.

Yes, the Swedes do use the 6.5x55 to harvest thousands of moose per year. However, Alaska moose hunting and Swedish moose hunting...
An idea, for you to consider, would be to unzip your jacket and put your recoil pad directly on your base layer. This has worked well for me….whether I’m wearing a T-shirt, rain jacket or heavy insulation layers….the rifle to shoulder connection is always the same.
Unlike centerfire suppressors…..rimfire suppressors generally hurt accuracy. See for yourself, shoot at paper targets with and without a suppressor, at 50 and 100 yards.
If your target sizes are relatively large and you prioritize sound reduction, then they’re awesome.
Although not a 375 Ruger. George Gardner at GA Precision designed a modified 375 H&H reamer, that will still shoot factory ammo and maximizes performance for hand loaders.
I’m shooting the Barnes 270 grain LRX at 2839 fps, using RL-17 and Norma brass. This combination has worked really well on...
The Outdoorsmans stud won’t void the warranty. I’ve sent two binoculars back to Swarovski, with studs installed and never had an issue. When I’ve spoken with Outdoorsmans in the past, they’ve also said that installing a stud shouldn’t void the warranty. Have you tried calling them to see if...
If you already do, or think you will, get an ATX/STX eyepiece. I’d recommend getting an ATX/STX 95mm Marsupial case. Then, get the Marsupial case that only holds the BTX eyepiece. Packing the BTX configuration is an odd shape that’s annoying to manage in the pack around all the other gear. This...
The Marsupial BTX case is perfect, because it provides protection while on the move, then allows you to separate it from the optic whle glassing. One of the problems with stay on cases is they increase the profile of the optic. Specifically, the dangling ocular and objective covers. While...
Hilleberg Tarra. A little heavier than what you’re hoping for. Significantly better than Kuiu or Stone Glacier tents. From my perspective, the increased cost and weight is definitely worth it.
I’d start by getting an ATX/STX eyepiece, if you don’t already have one, followed by getting the 65mm objective module. This would give you a range of options based on weight and bulk, depending on application.
I also have NL 12x42’s and a BTX/ATX with 65 and 95 mm objectives.
However, I...
