    I really like the Spuhr mount. Simple and solid as it gets. I took mine off to have the barrel threaded, put it back on and zero don’t change. That’s worth the money to me.

    Without having both and the luxury of picking one after checking the weather as you walk out the door; 15 degree for sure. September can swing either way, and it can be a lot colder at 11k than 9. Cheap insurance and comfort.

    Micro spikes are a good intermediate between yaktracks and crampons. Still get a spike for traction on ice and wet logs, but dont have to deal with the long tines catching on pants and whatnot.

    Yeah, somehow the LP fusion alpine is 3oz lighter than the nbk. From photos they look near identical, wonder where that difference sits.

    I cant help you with the reamer dimensions of old vs new; but you should be able to run whatever you get through a FL sizer and be close right? After one firing you'll have "fire formed" anyway. You cant do much better than petersen brass...
