Pretty good group, right? Top hole was last shot.
I'd say it's extremely promising, considering this was a load workup with N565 using Large and Magnum primers (156gr Berger EOL) all in one string...
Have you found a bullet that works well with something with a very short throat? I'm trying to find something that would work on a barrel that I might have to toss (gunsmith won't touch it since it's nitrided and would ruin his reamers he said).
Stay away from the newest gen - all downside, no upside.

Update here - long story short, Sig knows these are trash and will tell you to pound sand.
Update:
TLDR - stay away from the HDX Pro generation. Straight trash. No upside.
I spoke to Sig Sauer today after they checked my brand new 18 Pro's. "ThEy mEEt SPeC." When I pointed out how they market their new HDX Pro glass as superior light transmission, color and clarity, they backed ALL...
Soon as I get my day 1 Rokstok order I’ll reach out to Thomas. I have one of his bottom Metal kits waiting. He’s local and always willing to meet up and get me taken care of. Great guy - even installed my CR-1 riser for free on my ember stock.
Liberty - take some time to be here, interact, read, learn, contribute…
You’ll find that pretty much any hunting forum online gets hundreds of new users joining each fall just looking for hard earned tips. That’s why you’re getting flak. The $50 fee is just for immediate access to...
I would try buying the breakthrough kit and soak the whole thing for 24 hours. Hopefully that will loosen everything up. Otherwise just make a little wooden dowel to tap out gently.
I have an ember. The stock looks cool isn’t really worth the $. I run a suppressor on other chopped tikkas just fine. The spiral fluted bolts looks cool.
That said - I won’t buy another over a regular stainless T3X. Spend that money on an aftermarket stock instead.
Yep - hard to trust retailers trying to move these things.
I bought mine from Camera Land I’m sure they’ll take care of me if these Sigs in fact do not meet advertised performance.
Do it. I’ll continue recommending the Sig 42’s. But I’ll post honest reviews for the community good. Too often people waste money based on mega corporation promises.
Do better Sig. I’m curious what Sig says about mine. They asked for a comparative photo to enable an rma. I assume my photo was...
Just say no to Bergarbage. My shitty B14 drove me to buy a tikka. Haven’t looked back.
Also i hate that R700 bolts do not lock with the safety on. Mine would snag on brush and open up. Tikkas lock closed and are drop safe.
Plus they shoot better and actions are far superior.
I have both 147’s and 156’s to load.
My opinion is that 156’s will buck the wind a tiny bit better, but require more velocity to reliably open up (2000 vs 1800 fps per Form).
If I didn’t buy 500 156’s impulsively, I probably would never touch them. They seem to want more narrow range of jump...
