    Kids first vehicle……

'68 Bronco was the first vehicle I bought (around 1986) My dad was always buying and selling used vehicles so I never really had to own my own - drove the shop truck mostly and any cool vehicles he bought. One of my favourites he had for a while was a 65' Plymouth Fury convertible. What a boat...

    Arrows

I cut them out of a solid block of rosewood with a long hole saw. Made a jig out of a piece of 2X4 so I could run a nock through a set height on my table saw to start the string groove then finished it with a file. To attach the nock to the shaft I used the same jig on a drill press to bore a...

    Archery Terms You Hate

Applies more to "trad" archery but .... "in one fluid motion", when describing taking a shot. As in " as the buck stepped out I raised my bow and, in one fluid motion, sent the port orford cedar shaft ..." AAAAHHHHHHH!!! So in other words, you didn't hit your anchor point and panic released...

    How’s your fuel prices

Touch over $5/gal for diesel ($7 CAN) in Whitehorse. Anybody relocating to/from AK it's going to be an expensive trip! 2000 miles from the AK/YT border down to the BC/WA line.

    Late Season Sheep Gear

I've been using the MSR lightening ascent "misery slippers" for trapping and bison hunting. So far no complaints!

    Dall sheep Scouting ?

Depends on how big the drainages are. There's places I know of that the rams do a "circuit" and it might be 8-10 days before they are back where you first saw them, and they can cover a huge area in that time. If it was hot when you went back they could be tucked into little crevices or over...

    Dall sheep Scouting ?

YMMV but if you find rams in July they will be there in (in the general area) in Sept. You'll start to see migration to ewe areas in late Oct as they stage for the rut. This is assuming they haven't been driven out by external factors.

    Dall sheep BC

If you go in off the highway take a goat tag. :) And be 110% sure where you are in relation to the border! Guy just got hit with an $8500 fine this past week for shooting a sheep in YT when he shouldn't have.

    Lets talk sheep scopes.

My kimber has tipped over 3 dalls and it wears a leupold vx3 2-10 with the cds. The scope and rifle all bear the scars you'd expect from mountain hunting. It's preformed flawlessly. I suspect you"ll end up shooting a ram at a closer distance than you're imagining. :)

    Beginner Livestock for Small Acreage

I've got 15 hens and a few roosters (segregated in their own area. Roosters are more of interest sake than practical purposes. Even one can be hard on the hens. 3 of the "old boys" are just free range yard ornaments. :) and I'm surprised they made the summer and fall. But the BFD (big fat dog)...

    bird dog caught in snare

I trap lynx, wolverine, coyotes and wolves using only Belisle 330 magnums and snares (either 1/16 or 5/64 cable) with locking cams. You have to be one strong MF'er to hand set one of the 330's. Trap setters and cable cutters are cheap, especially compared to how much you probably spent on...
