As someone who has had both multiple times I’ve landed on straight and converted everything over. Spent a season with each on the same trips and liked straight way more side by side. Primarily for the speed of finding animals and having my eye in the scope. When I slide off binos and slide on...
I think you're right. Mine had it as well. To me it just appears to be part of the carbon layup process under the coating. It's not a physical line you can feel or anything. I've had a ton of carbon stocks and sanded down a lot of painted carbon stocks and I don't think people realize you see...

Thanks a lot UM! Could have written this off as Prime Days delivery but now she knows something for shooting is inside.
I’ll pay an extra $50 for a box that says “warranty replacement - fragile” next time [emoji23]

I’d be sure to follow “jayscottoutdoors” on IG and he posts a ton of live and spotter views and comes back and tells you the score a few days later. Was very helpful on my tag last year.
Now for the pics.
Bull #1:
I estimated him right around 360”. This on 60x and then cropped and zoomed...
I’ve had both (well the Xmid pro) and my general rule is Sep 31 and earlier below 10k, Xmid. Sep into winter Mountain Star. 10k plus Mountain Star. If planned camp is very exposed Mountain Star.
Sep CO elk would be great for the Xmid.

I use a dremel with the thin plastic brush head and it knocks it out in about a second each screw. Then degrease, dry, and reinstall.

I use the crib for training but take it off hunting. I leave it in the truck though and if I had a second load of meat I’d remove the pack and throw the crib on for the remaining trips and just run the hip belt side pouches and Nalgene holder for the remaining trips. I’m a weight weanie so that...
I’d shoot the barrel out as is and rebarrel to a 6 that lets you use existing dies later. Work on building your shooting position well and you’ll be able to spot impacts.

Is there a listed weight on a Rem 700 inlet yet? Have seen some Tikka weights on here. Was curious where the 700’s came in at.

Bag arrived today. Looks great. Seems like the 6580 cubic inches is correct. It’s shorter than my K4 7200 but seems a bit wider. Seems smaller than the dall when I look inside but side by side they seem similar. Like the pockets. Excited to get it loaded up for sheep.
Dall left, Absaroka...
Personally I'd rather rent a tripod and bino adapter for your bino's than a spotter. If you do take one 2,000 yards is not very far for a spotter and you don't need a 85 or even 65 class spotter. I'd look at the compact series of spotting scopes: Swaro STC/ATC or Kowa 55A/55S or older 553/554...
Never been used for a hunt, but has been attached to a frame to test fit everything.
$325 shipped or trade for a K3 6400 ranger green bag in great shape.
