20 yrs ago, my son was spitting 150 gr Core-lokts through a 1942 Springfield like sunflower husks. I didn't really care because I paid $100 for the Garand. 100 rounds through it without damage (cause I only had 5 boxes of the Core-lokts). He killed 5 or 6 deer with it, then it went back into hiding.

Very narrow in the Southeast. I'd love to see a 6x50 Klassic or Trijicon come out however.
The older hunters around me that recognize the SWFA name only know of the SS scopes origin as Tasco branded and associate their quality with $50 Tascos.
From my follow up questions, local mom and pop shops used "they are made by Tasco" to steer customers to higher profit margin scopes.
I have a chance to buy one very lightly used. I like the adjustable length af pull and that it can be used for a youth rifle. My other Steyr prohunters are great, but never used their scout model. Twist rate is 1:9 so it likely won't stabilize the heavies.
I quit using my 30-30 and 35 Rem because everytime I take them out to hunt close in spots, I end up seeing good sized deer at long distance walking in or out and wish I had one of my BLRs.
Klassic is better than the Maven to my eyes.
