That's a smart approach. Thanks for responding.

I'm supposing that RDT415 cares whether his new stock will fit his barreled action. You appear to suppose that he should care less. The negative effect, and potential consequence you don't have to pay for, is that you're offering bad advice. RDT415 noted he has a steel featherlight barrel...

    RokStok

You made the correct decision to order the sporter inlet. The only adaptation needed has to do with the length and taper where the breech sits in the channel. That can be fixed in 3 minutes with a wrench socket wrapped in 120 grit sandpaper. The BM5/Ace3 contours are too beefy (too much inlet...

    Alternatives to Tyvek?

To clarify, more wrinkling = less noise. New Tyvek can be very noisy so needs tight compression to wrinkle + dryer heat to soften/quiet.

    Alternatives to Tyvek?

I camp often and have several pieces of Tyvek. Have never had issues with max heat dryer setting. What I do: When a piece is new I wash it, tumble in a dryer at high heat setting for at least 60 minutes (to soften/wrinkle). I pack pieces tight into a Ziploc to create creases/wrinkles before...

    WTB Lapua 6mm Creedmoor Brass.

I recently assembled a 6CM for one of my sons-in-law. Could not find any Lapua brass... but ended up noticing the Berger loads their factory 6CM in annealed Lapua SRP. Bought a bunch of boxes, shot them up and now have a bunch of formed cases for load dev. Something to consider.

    Washing a tent?

Cornfed Your approach is solid. Just replace the idea of soap with vinegar. What I do (my response is specific to nylon tents): If the tent has a floor, set it up and spray the inside/out with a garden hose. That's plenty! If stained, try to remove with isopropyl alcohol and a soft...

    284 WIN Throat Length

Sorry, no pics yet. Right now it's a barreled action sitting in a safe. Was using a XLR chassis from another rifle while waiting for a RokStok + still need to paint the shank and muzzle ends. I'll get motivated when the stock shows up... What action and length will you be using?

    284 WIN Throat Length

Hi Matt Barrel is exceptionally accurate - impressive/very pleased. My barrel's chambering is perfect for loading longer bullets in a medium-length action and 3.25" OAL magazines. Would NOT lengthen the throat.

    .243 95 grain LRX

I have 2 rifles with 95 LRX loadings. One is a 240W with a K&P 1:9 and a 6CM with a 1:7.5 twist. Both load easily/forgiving + shoot very accurate with the 95 LRX. 240W uses H4831 and the 6CM w/H4350 (around 43 grains, Lapua brass, Fed 210 primer). All my LRX loadings can 1) be pushed harder...

NXS 2.5-10 on a long action?

See photo of medium-length Ruckus receiver (XM+) with split rail and NF 2.5-10. It's almost maxed-out rearward. Note that the NF's front tube span is short so can be very limiting on a LA without a full rail - it barely works on my receiver. My hunch is that you won't have enough tube length...

    284 WIN Throat Length

Hi OP My 284WIN rifle has a Carbon Six barrel. Was told they used a Manson reamer w/a 2019 design date (+ C6 described as SAAMI chambering). So far I've loaded 3 different bullets using RL26. 165 TGK, 175 EH, and 195 EOL. Accuracy for all 3 bullets is impressive with wide/forgiving nodes, easy...
