After no luck searching online about what fabric or materials actually insulate the Uncompahgre, I reached out to first lite and was first told the same sales language, non-informational answer "the Uncompahgre puffy series uses a 37.5 synthetic insulation". But 37.5 isnt actually insulation...
Pro tip, your stove better be close to cold by the time everyone is off hunting that morning. If a ranger/warden/police/concerned citizen sees smoke rolling out and no one tending your fire, you'll be in for a nice fine and likely a soggy stove...3rd rifle is routinely seeing firebans on stoves...
Ya you're right, on 2nd thought no one hotspots prime elk microhabitats to get social media followers for personal gain, CPW isnt over-issuing tags anywhere and its all rainbows and 380 bulls in CO...
I used the RTIC 30 for a couple flights, brought back frozen fish with less than 5lbs of dry ice and worked well in overhead compartment. Zipper stopped locking and eventually broke off after just 3 years.
Will be drawing a muzzy mule deer tag and I havent been able to find any primers. I live near Denver, CO and would be happy to trade some .22 LR ammo or BH 209 powder if cash wont do.
Hey if you are still not having luck, Im sitting on some BH 209 but am in severe need of primers, if you have any Federal 209A or even better CCI 209M primers, id be happy to work out a trade. Im north of Denver.
Could be 70 dry and sunny or minus 10 and 4+ ft of snow and everything in between. It could be snowy cold and windy but with a fireban in effect that limits stove use. In 24 hrs it can go from Tshirt to down gear. At 10k plus elevation you should expect near zero temps.
I think with 20 more years of hunting experience, the hunting collective could be good. I listen to podcasts to learn from folks who have lived it, breathed it and have the ability to convey it through story and statistics. The Meateater, Closing the Distance, Jay Scott Outdoors are all experts...
the kowa 553 is the gold standard for ultralight backpacking spotter. The sharpness, clarity and depth is truly great. FOV is fairly narrow, but at spotter distances and for an animal confirming/size up role its awesome.
Primos trigger stick tall bipod is the most adjustable of the options Ive found. I dont like its weight and I dont like its cheap camo paint, but damned if it isnt the best thing going for quick setups in any terrain. Ive seen enough opportunities missed due to lack of quick rifle setup and...
Got an in on a hunting line golden that needs rehoming...6 months old and been introduced to birds. I have a 5 year old GWP and know nothing about flushing dogs. My pointer ranges pretty far and conceptually a close ranging flusher could be an asset. I hunt primarily pheasants in CO, KS and NE...
New
(Smashed the old one after 3 years of perfect operation and was replaced on warranty last week) so its new! Starting to carry more day to day and hunting with a rifle so less need for the G29 with light in the woods. This light is stupid bright and is great for a camp gun.
Left/right hand...
For folks without kestrels, can the Leica app take a generic wind speed (say 10mph at 3oclock or 90degree angle to shot) and then kick out windage holds similar to the sig kilo in BDX app? If so, is this also functional without bluetooth connectivity being on in the field? Thanks
