Formidilosus If you decided this was the rifle for you and were okay with the stock geometry, would you epoxy (skim bed) all the interior wood to prevent moisture absorption? Would you epoxy the bottom metal to the stock?
I started my sons on the Appalachian trail at ages 3 & 5. It took us about 12 hours hiking to cover 8 miles over 3 days on that first outing. I let them stop and play at every creek crossing.
They’re now 13 & 15 and we’ve done some grueling backcountry hunting and experienced some misery...
I’m 3/3 successfully using shilen #2 and #3 contour pre-fits on old (built in 1898-1910) Swedish Mausers.
With the oldest I recently put 20 shots in 4 inches at 315 yards. Plenty good for hunting!
