Picking the RIGHT hunting caliber/cartridge for the job. By the numbers

The OP wants a 600 yard elk round and the .223 guys are mad he didn't pick what they themselves say is an effective 450 yard elk round? Makes sense.

    Wyoming Corner Crossing defense fund

Only if it ends up in federal court. If it stays in Wyoming state courts, it only impacts Wyoming.

    Vista CEO admits "capacity management"

Well, they are either working as hard as they can to meet demand, as they claimed previously, or they are structuring supply to keep demand artificially high, as this article claims. It can't be both.

    Vista CEO admits "capacity management"

This sounds far different than "we're making ammo 24/7." https://www.zerohedge.com/political/what-great-ammunition-shortage-says-about-inflation

Flintlocking for a moose in Newfoundland

Flinters are a PITA in the rain, even with a cows knee. As much as I love hunting with them, I wouldn't bet an out of state (or country) trip on one in wet weather. I think taking your CF rifle along is a smart plan.

    Upland lead distancing

Get your gun to shoot where you look, then focus on what you want to hit.

Does a 130 grain bullet in .308 give near identical performance to a .270?

It won't make any difference under 400. I would go with the .270 for no particular reason.

One Rifle to do it all Or a rifle for each occasion?

I shot a 30-06 for everything for a long time, and it worked. But it tore up a lot of meat on deer and it was kind of limited on larger game. I think I'm better off with a 7-08 for deer, and .338WM will shoot all the way through the front half of a moose from any angle.

    Argentina stag hunt

I've been down there a couple of times to shoot birds. I was told not to bother trying to bring a gun into Argentina. They have an awesome hunting culture. I was going in 2020 to hunt stag, but the world shut down.

The fire you've never heard about

It is crazy how fast prairie grass can take off. I'm surprised it only burned what it did with the winds they had out there.

Meat being held due to FDA

As late as 2017 they let you drive it back. Took less than 10 minutes to fill out a form and back on the road.

Will we ever see new Remington 870s on shelves?

I'm sure we will, but I wouldn't take bets as to when.

#7 1/2 target loads for quail, Fiocchi Golden Pheasant 5's or 6's for pheasants.

Here we go again in MT...

So residents don't like having done to them what they did to non-residents? I suppose the landowners could argue that you should have bought land like they did, just as residents argue non-residents could have chosen to move.

Lyman 54 cal Deer Stalker & PRB

I had that same rifle years ago. If memory serves, I ended up shooting 80 gr. of 2F.

    Winchester Super-X Power-Point Centerfire Rifle Ammo - 150 Grain - 7mm Remington Magnum

I've killed a lot of deer with 150 gr Power Points in 30-06 and they do a great job, but I don't think they would offer consistent penetration on elk.

    Wyoming Corner Crossing defense fund

It sounds about like nothing. You made some phone calls and asked other people to pay for attorneys? But I'll bet the super duper top secret stuff to come will be a real blockbuster.
