A medium weight rod worked fine for me. I think I had 15-20 pound test mono line. A Krocodile lure worked great. We fished a slough off the main river. It was a blast watching the pike shoot out of the weeds.

Headed into a hut last weekend but got a late start at the trailhead. Ran out of juice at 3am so just slept on the ground. Woke up in the morning to find a giant tent stashed under the big rock in the background.
The forest service cabins are nice. I think you’d have a hard time finding one that’s available now. During the week maybe but any weekends are gonna be full. Most of them you have to book 6 months ahead. But keep checking because people do cancel reservations. I went to a couple of them the end...
