I just bought a kimber in 338 fed for this exact use. Can't wait to use it. I have long range rifles and havent shot an animal over 100 yards and outside the timber sense 2019. And now that I think about it I've only killed a handful of animals over 350 yards. Just doesn't happen much for me...
I was able to take it to 49 grains at 2795 with a slight extractor mark. Going to back it off a little and load some more.
Recoil was surprisingly mild and the point-ability of the rifle was everything I had hoped for.

Just picked mine up. Gunna throw a scope laying around on it and do a ladder test with some 185 ttsx that came with the rifle tomorrow.

Pretty much a free for all in Washington for the tribes and they take full advantage of it. Like hunting extremely limited entry units from sept 1 to feb 28 with rifles on public land. In Montana outside of a few limited opportunities like gardiner basin bison hunts, that is not allowed off the...
It's called fossil and i believe nw factory finishes offers that one. It's not diamond kote as it doesn't have the flange but gecko clips work damn near as fast. Ill try and get another pic, its freaking sharp with wood accents.
Another thing I recommend is the pre made corners. For one it's a...
Glad you got one ordered. Use it. Im not one to be a sissy but flipped my raft on a mellow stretch in the spring one time and was held under for some time. It's real. Especially on a swollen spring River. Another thing to take in consideration is the river conditions can change quite literally...
My buddy and his wife have this place.

I've push smart side on all of my builds thevlast couple of years. Always go with pre finished if you can, just one less step. It looks sharp and is easy to work with.

The hunt back country podcast with one of the hornady guys answers alot of questions for people asking why. I was in the camp of it being another annoying cartridge duplicate until listening to that podcast. I also had this conversation with my hunting partner building a 7 prc, he said it was...
What everyone running for scopes and rings on theirs? Was hoping to not put a heavy NF on this but its such a bomb proof option.

Just found some 2230. I have a couple of 185 ttsx coming with the rifle. Going to start there and see what I come up with. If it looks like its fairly easy rifle to get to shoot ill try the CEB. If its a finnicky kimber ill be looking at other Barnes. Would really like to find some 210...
They claim they open down to 1500 fps. Running a quick calc shows they are above that getting launched at 2800. Not much real world info on them though. I guess I'll be the $2 a bullet guinea pig.

Looking at those 176 ER raptors. Expensive but its not going to get shot often and looks like they will open well beyond 500 yards. Not that this rifle will be intended for that either, but its nice having the ability. I see benchmark is in stock at powder valley as well.
