Keep in mind that I have a RRS TFCT-34L w/ Anvil head so it's an extremely beefy tripod for the primary purpose of shooting (it's like 5 pounds). I clip a RRS PT-Scout pan head into it for glassing that I can remove and replace with my rifle, via my rifle's ARCA rail, in about 5 seconds. But the...
Went on a pronghorn hunt with my father and both of us shot ours at 360 yards fully standing from my tripod (different situations/locations/days). First time either of us have shot game from the standing position. Last year I shot my coues deer at 380 yards from my tripod in the sitting...
Depends on your shooting style and comfort. Mount the scope as high as you need to in order to be comfortable behind it. Higher rings mean you have to roll your head a little less when getting behind it but don't mount so high you can't get a good cheek or jaw weld on the stock.
Obviously...
Well the 6-36 has freakish FOV and eyebox, plus I was shooting a 14.5# rifle in 6.5CM with a suppressor (fully standing off my tripod). So 15 sounds like a lot but it's not with that setup.
I know this is a pretty niche thing but figured I'd mention it in here anyway. KRG's ARCA rails and their ARCA spigot are now R-Lock compatible, I just confirmed with them. Convinced me to grab a spigot for my Bravo for hunting. Had a non R-lock one on my Whiskey-3 that my bipod almost walked...
I'm almost 100% sure when I upgrade the stock on my hunting rifle (from a KRG Bravo), it'll be to a Manners LRH. I know I'll like the ergos of the grip since I miss my EH1A after I sold it. I know I can order it direct from Manners with a reduced LOP like 13" but I need to figure out if Manners...
To make matters worse, less than 1% of people in Asheville (for example) had flood insurance. Understandably so but that's going to make it so much worse.
Looks like MDT finally came out with the traditional stock version of their Hnt26. I'd like the grip to be slightly more vertical. I'd also prefer for the integral ARCA to have R-Lock slots machined into it like their ACC Elite does but it would probably compromise the integrity of the rail...
I recently stumbled across a very good (relatively) series by, surprisingly, Best of the West. And it wasn't even really a product advertisement thing either. They brought in Phillip Velayo and did a 6 part series (I'll link one part below) going through a bunch of pretty useful stuff with...
I swear Reagan (who was the leader of the SAG union and led an actors strike prior to becoming president, so he liked unions when they benefitted him) caused this country to develop boot-seeking tongues.
