    Suppressor wait times

I have been buying cans since 2004. Back then, the main reason to own your NFA items via a trust was to get around the chief law enforcement officer (CLEO) signature requirement. In order to get a form approved as an individual, you had to obtain the signature of the chief law enforcement...

    Suppressor wait times

I've always wanted to file a complaint with the WV state bar that those guys are engaged in the unauthorized practice of law. I am a lawyer licensed in two states, and I have had a couple of debates over the years with some GS-5 examiner over his view of trust law. It is even more ridiculous...

    Silencer recommendation for whitetail hunting

Nothing wrong with the Nomad Ti, but given how long you will be waiting anyway, a few weeks for the one you want to come back in stock makes sense. I have a bunch of cans, but in terms of direct thread, 30 cal, I have a Gemtech Tracker and a SilencerCo Harvester 30. Both work great on .308 and...

NM New Minimum Age to Hunt

Sounds like someone might hire a lawyer and run to court, but that of course costs money.

What's the deal with everyone using suppresors?

I have been buying cans since 2004 and have quit a few for various applications. The most satisfaction I get out of any of them is on a bolt gun while hunting. Less noise, less recoil, and I usually forego earpro when actually hunting (but wear it on the range). My 300 Wby Accumark is really...

    Wayne La Pierre Resigns

One of the gun clubs I belong to just amended its bylaws to drop the requirement to be an NRA member. It was driven by WLP and his shenanigans.

Are e-form 3's typically less than 2 weeks?

    Silencerco Scythe TI review

I certified the form 4 on my Scythe on Wednesday. Hope to have it before next hunting season. We'll see.

    Wayne La Pierre Resigns

I share the frustration with WLP, and I glad he is finally gone. That said, the NRA 100% funded the Bruen litigation, and we have them to thank for it. I am an NRA lifer, but I have not sent them money in many years. These days my money goes to FPC, but credit where credit is due on Bruen.

    Another possible wolf delay

Presumably the plaintiffs are now running to the Tenth Circuit for relief. I'l take a look and report back.

    Another possible wolf delay

OK. I figured out the NEPA jurisdictional piece. The USFS has a cooperative agreement with the Colorado Parks department. The decision to renew that is what is being challenged under NEPA. Clever. Here is the language from the complaint.

    Another possible wolf delay

I found the case. It is number 1:23-cv-03258 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado. The plaintiffs have moved for a temporary restraining order (TRO) and a preliminary injunction. Judge Regina M. Rodriguez has the case, and she is Biden appointee. To her credit, she held a...

    Another possible wolf delay

NEPA is a really interesting statute. I studied it in some detail when I took environmental law in law school. It does not in any way limit what a government agency can do, but it requires them to adequately consider the environmental impact of their activities and then prepare an...

    Model 70 light strike issue

Saw some light strike issues on a late model Win 70 that belongs to my brother. I tis chambered in 300 WM. It is one of the recent ones where they went back to the pre-64 CRF action. We had his new rifle out (this was 2020), and we were getting very sporadic ignition. It turned out to be the...

    Post big hunting trip blues

I live in the Southeast as well, and if you like trout fishing, the winter is the best time. There are some amazing fisheries in East TN. I will be there next week and hope to get out a couple of times.

    Post big hunting trip blues

It's always nice to have an outdoor adventure to look forward to. Start planning your next one. I don't know if you are a fisherman, but I usually do a couple of fly fishing trips a year. It scratches many of the same itches and is much cheaper and more accessible.
