I think it is worth mentioning, especially because I found this out thankfully before I made my boot purchase, when I hear or see the term, "true to size", I take that to mean according to the Brannock Device. Be sure you have had your foot measured, length, width, and especially arch length, on...
I have the Big Agnes Anvil Horn 15 degree bag. It's 650 fill, has a good outer water resistance and the down is treated in case it gets soaked. I have only slept in it in around 26 degree weather and it was comfortable to me, and that's just sleeping with socks, lightweight pants and my base...
Wanted to share my review of the Nemo Switchback Ultralight Sleeping Pad. I made this purchase last minute before my hunt last year. I purchased mainly due to my worry of my sleeping pad, (Thermarest Neoair Xlite), possibly being punctured, but also the fact we were going to sleep in my buddy's...
I used to not have a desire to hunt Black Bear until I realized what can be done with the meat and especially the fat. I'd hunt Black Bear for sure, but have no desire to hunt Grizzly Bear. Also, I wouldn't care for some of the big African species like Lion, elephant, giraffe, hippo. But I'd...
I'm sure your mom would agree that those 9 months are, or at least were the hours/days spent at the school or doing official school work. Many teachers spend a vast amount of their own time and money preparing the curriculum, and classroom to be the most effective at communicating the lessons...
Exactly. Sadly there are a lot of parents that don't know how to teach their children, some families don't have internet access, in some families both parents work, in that case who watches the kids and makes sure they are attending their virtual classes? For us, homeschooling is looking more...
While I am frustrated with not being able to interact with customers, I'm more concerned with what's going to happen with schools. Not sure if it is the same around the country but if you try to look up school ratings, at least here in Texas, they have a label of Not Rated for 2020-2021...
My company's commercial meeting got canceled, now our first trade show got canceled. All due to COVID spikes. Be prepared, and lets hope things get better fast.
I don't want my kids to grow up thinking hunting is a competition and you're only successful if you have the heaviest or most animals with the biggest racks. I feel this will only add to the number of people using public resources for the wrong reasons.
The CO big game brochure shows which units can be drawn OTC for rifle and archery. The units not highlighted will be drawn units. Some units will be otc but private or public land only and some exclude certain areas.
I bought some of those black mylar type bags off of amazon, resealable. I made Mountain Mush for my breakfasts. Just pour hot water in, same concept as the freeze dried meals. You could put ramen and anything else that required hot water in those bags.
Hunted there this last year second season OTC. I don't see why the elk wouldn't be around there during archery season. There's definitely plenty of Mule Deer around. It was really crowded during the OTC hunt and we didn't see any elk where we were hunting.
It will be interesting to see how this plays out. I've never had any experience with trail cams out west. I'm in Texas and have 10 acres. I use a SD trail cam at a feeder to keep track of the does and look for any bucks that meet the antler restrictions, (inside spread must be 13" or greater). I...
SDHNTR, thank you. Honestly I only have a FB account, and I only keep that to catch any deals I may be able to get on gear haha! Well I have LinkedIn too but I don't count that the same as Instagram or the other ones.
I hope I am one of the good ones. I try to be. I wouldn't want anyone coming...
I understand this statement and I feel like those individuals who are hunting just to make content to get likes on Instagram, or to get famous so they can make a quick buck are bad apples, which as we know can spoil a bunch.
I also agree to the point I think you are trying to make here. Any...
It's an important topic and one that should be addressed. I can give my POV as I'm new to Western Big Game Hunting myself. And I hope other newbies aren't afraid to state their opinions because they're just as important as any Western State's resident's opinion. I'll be the first to admit I'm no...
