It's only about a year old and still has the first battery I put in it. I moved to range finding binos and no longer use this. I'm asking...

    Atlas PRS vs Spartan Javelin

You could use a picatinny quick release that comes on most of them, but it is not as fast a the magnet system of the javelin

    Atlas PRS vs Spartan Javelin

Get the CAL. I prefer it over the PRS. The PRS can be hard to "lock down" sometimes. Another great option, in my opinion, is an ultralight swivel harris with a pod loc. I run that on my main long range hunting rifle.

    Atlas PRS vs Spartan Javelin

The javelin is good if you are trying to go as light as possible. But the Javelin doesn't come close to the stability of an atlas. Leuko tape alternative

Hit your feet with spray antiperspirant to help keep them from filling your boots with sweat. How long did you leave the tape on when you broke out? You shouldn't leave it on for more than 5 days at a time and you need to let it air out at night

First time elk hunting in Colorado, any help will be highly appreciated.

In my experience, just because you found elk scouting in the summer doesn't always mean they will still be there that fall. If I were you, I'd plan to be mobile. Have other areas you want to check out so, if you get in somewhere and you don't see anything for a few days, you can go somewhere else.
