Leave next week to head out for my elk/bear hunt.
outside of everything else going on 2020 has been good to me.
With USPS I had a some stuff for my truck take over a month to get to me. Fedex has been just as bad. Its funny cause UPS has been solid and I have had no issues. I guess it depends on the area that you live in for some stuff.
I cant recommend a specific rental company but you should look towards the greenbriar area or wears valley area. There will be cabins that are private around these areas. We got a cabin down there and the construction of new cabins has been a pain since they build them on top of each other and...
For me it depends on the situation. I run both and have had success with both. It depends on the person more then anything. If I’m packing a ground blind I’ll run my mystery ranch pack. If it is just a day hunt I’m running a vest.
Went out yesterday afternoon it was windy and didn’t see anything but was looking for signs. Found a few in this back field. Hiked in there early morning today set up a ground blind and waited for a bit. It was really quiet when I’m used to hearing birds gobble out on that land and then at about...
Im excited. Since work has me teleworking I decided to go down to Tennessee for the opener and spend the week down in their at my cabin. Then will have to wait for the Michigan opener. Ive got gobbler fever right now
I’ve used Sitka, badlands, and stuff picked up from bass pro. It all will work as long as your in a good position and keep movements down. For turkeys I’ve been using more badlands lately. I just like the pattern and the fit of the clothes. I run first lite guide pants though in fusion.
That pattern will be fine. I’ve used it in the past in Tennessee and California and had success. Just make sure not to be to twitchy when them birds come in and you will be fine.
Turkeys are the one hunt I make sure I have all camo on. In reality it isn’t a big deal. They detect movement extremely well so staying still is more important. If you set up 75-100 yards away from the roost you might get them to come right to you. Turkey hunting is a lot of fun. Hopefully you...
The big burn - slow read for me but I really enjoyed it.
of a feather a brief history of American birding - great book easy read. Was actually the second time I read it.
Homing instinct meaning and mystery in animal migration - currently reading not far into it but so far I am enjoying it
