Another vote for 18”. I had a 26” barrel with cam on it. It absolutely sucked for hunting with. I might have well as been hiking around with a flag pole. Way to much length unless your hunting antelope on the plains or something with no trees.
Nope… save less than a lb compared to the og. I love my outdoorsmans tripod and heads. Would not give them up but $800 more than the og to shave a lb is ridiculous. Count me as one of those that won’t be getting rid of my original. Ps I have two of them and still can’t warrant buying the carbon...
I love mine and have no complaints. Best fitting gaiters I have ever owned. I have had a little bit of snow and ice build up at times but I have never had a pair of gators that didn’t do it in the right conditions. It’s never been enough to bother me on the sg gators. I have about 40-50 days on...
There are a lot of off-roading apps and forums that usually have the most up to date conditions on a lot of the roads. Hiking apps also have a wealth of knowledge too
All personal opinion, you going on a hunt for inches or experience? A kill is never a sure thing either so making a judgment call on some younger rams someone else brought home seems crazy to me. I hunt for the experience though. I could care less about inches.
@Oregon Hunter is there any chance you all would make a plate to stud like the one talked about in this thread that would fit the outdoorsmans base plate?
Following. Not sure I will ever pull the trigger on the stove/tent but interested. Don’t really want to pack the weight in deep and I feel like there are better options for close to the truck. Used an XL insulated ice shack with a buddy heater for a base camp this year and that was better than...
In my household antelope takes the cake. My 2 year old and 6 year old daughters as well as my wife all prefer it hands down. My mountain goat was a close second. Elk is always top of my list because of the work induced to get it. Just makes it taste that much better
Get to hunt a day or two before the season opens and stay till it ends. (Colorado that is) other states that may not be reasonable. Also stay out before sunrise till after sunset.
Layer up with a range of brands but quality merino is always the under layers. Any western hunt it is always better to prepare for everything and leave some in the truck when you get there. Wether reports are not accurate enough for me to trust a couple days out in the mountains.
