So let's just do something for the fun of it, imagine you don't have a plane.....I hunted very hard for my entire adult life and I finally got a big bull at the age of 35! I always use my feet and atv for hunting. This year I drew a awesome tag in South East Alaska and I had the opportunity to...
None of those cartridges were designed to shoot heavy for caliber (high bc) bullets. The creedmore was specifically designed to shoot heavy for caliber bullets at moderate speeds. This is also why they made the 6.5prc....the cm left allot of people wanting more.
No I do not I just watch markets closely. The 6.5 want more is a target round that got justified as a hunting round (yes it works for hunting but there are others that do the same or more so no need) it started the push for high bc for caliber bullets so people could sit on the opposite mountain...
There focus on ELR is based on what our customers are asking for. Blame Hornady for this after they came out with the creedmoor and had to use bc and range to justify its purpose. Also the European market hunts alot of open land and not many large game animals so they prefer smaller fast bullets...
Weatherby is doing just fine I asure you! There high end rifles sell very well and they have a good following across the pond. Our market is big but the European market can't be ignored. Saying Weatherby is sinking is like saying Blaser isn't going to survive because you don't see them here.
To add to this my wife shoots my arrows and we both have great accuracy at 50+yrds. I shoot a vxr 28 at 27in draw and 74lbs, she shoots a prima at 25.5in draw and 50lbs. We shoot Easton axis 340 spine with 100g tips. Don't get so hung up on all the "stuff".
Get her a woman's bow shooting any arrow setup you can get as close to 400g as possible. Short arrows are stiffer so keep that in mind also. Or do yourself a favor and just let her shoot your arrows as long as your not a 32in draw guy.
I've never found a sevr that didn't hit where field points do. I have 1 head dedicated to practice that I shoot once when I get to my destination (traveling abroad). I shoot them all and I've never sharpened a set and I've never lost a animal shot with a sevr! I did however loose a deer this...
