Happy to hear! I was originally a little miffed that the barrels are 1:11, but I'm only going after whitetail so I got over it. 150-168 is plenty. I picked up some Barnes 150s and bonded Fusions to try out first. We'll see what I get and go from there lol.
Bought a Roughtech in .308 from Sportsman's yesterday, haven't shot it yet but I'm actually shocked at how much of a step up it is compared to the 700s and Savage's I've used in the past.
I couldn't get over the reports of bad QC from Christensen so I wasn't willing to take the chance, Tikka...
So long as the crown is done properly after the cut it shouldn't be a problem, worst case you have to test ammo to find what it likes again after the harmonics changed.
Hey guys,
New to the forum, little background on me.
Grew up in a farming family, left home and spent six years in the Marines, have one season of whitetail hunting under my belt (took one mature doe), and eager for more.
Looking forward to learning and discussing all manner of things with y'all.
Today marks seven years of sobriety from alcohol for me. Life is a wonderful thing, full of highs and lows, I'd have nothing I cherish today if I continued down that path.
I see alcohol for what it is now... Poison. A poison for your body and mind, relationships, and passions. It leaks...
I bought the oscillating tool last year when I had to go digging for a strange smell in the downstairs bathroom. It's a joy to use and surprisingly useful for random things around the house and garage, very versatile.
Got it listed over there. We'll see what happens, I'll be sad to see it go but sometimes the right thing is the hard thing.
I'm the same way JFK, always thought they looked goofy but man the shape is so nice to have in your hands. The way it tapers all the way down the the barrel band is *chefs...
Hmm. The rifle has a 1:10 twist so I wouldn't think 178s would be an issue, but you never know maybe the lighter ones will perform better, maybe a similar weight from a different manufacturer. Idk if it holds true for -06 like it does .308, but see if you can find any Gold Metal Match. If a .308...
Hadn't thought of that! Added to the list thank you.
That's certainly not my intention, if it was I sure wouldn't have attached my real name to my account! If it helps alleviate concerns of the moderation team I'd be happy to remove the photo to discourage private messages and/or pass along the...
I'll be attempting to sell my 1952 Mannlicher-Schoenauer stutzen soon, however I'm not sure where the collectors of such things hang out. There are a few forums I know I'll post (SH, guns international, firearms forum, etc.) but I don't know if I'll get the listing in front of a collectors eyes...
