Thanks for this info, I've been looking for a Canada bear hunt! I'd lean on driving there though. Planes and gear don't sit well with me. Too complex and too much stress!
Cmf,
I have a tight budget. I'd like to dream of going every year, but let's face the music. I just want to accomplish an elk hunt. I'd love to harvest a cow, and then save up for a lifetime bull. And then a muley. I'd be going solo. So I'd like to stay away from grizzly territory. I'd like to...
Thanks for responding,
I'd be going solo, how's the bear situation in Wyoming? Would it be viable to get an outfitter for the first time? I don't have any friends that are as passionate as I am. My wife would kill me faster than the grizz if I went alone

With being frugal in mind, which state is the cheapest to start acquiring points? I too am in the same boat and want to experience an elk hunt. Would I like a harvest? Absolutely, but firstly would be the experience of being out west!
Trying to figure out which state would be the best for a first time western hunter going for elk. I don't have any pref points, nor know how to aquire them yet. I'm shooting for any legal elk, cow or bull, raghorn, or spike. Would be shooting for OTC possibly CO or MT? What would you suggest I...
How far SW in mich are ya? I'm from NW IN and have been debating hunting SW mich for deer. I can give ya a couple pointers on the thunder chickens. Im always down to try something new!
Howdy all,
Finally joined my first hunting forum. I'm 30yrs old from Indiana, and it's time to get serious about my dream of hunting out west. Thank you for having me on Rokslide.
Let's get down to business, I've never been out west, but have been hunting whitetail here for 10yrs. What's the...
