One Rifle to do it all Or a rifle for each occasion?

Another reason: I can imagine sometimes not wanting to explain why using a .223/77gr TMK isn't unethical and why my "tactical" looking rifle (chassis, bipod, 5-20X scope) shouldn't make me suspect. A .243 in a traditional hunting stock with a 3-9X scope won't provoke anyone (and has some...

    What caliber?

A .22 would make your 200 yard range pretty fun.

One Rifle to do it all Or a rifle for each occasion?

Sure. I'm a .223/77gr TMK believer though, so only need the .243/95gr TMK for additional range and states that don't allow hunting with a .223.

    .243, .223, .22

.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

Just curious - by the same reasoning, would a .308/195gr TMK be recommended for African dangerous game?

.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

A single [.223] round is capable of severing the upper body from the lower body, or decapitation.

The Dominion's Standard weight is 3lbs 4oz with .5″ recoil pad, 3lbs 6oz with 1″ recoil pad. Is that so crazy?

    Caliber for Daughter??

Statistically significant experience says they'd likely shoot better with a .223:

    Caliber for Daughter??

But this isn't a matter of opinion. Unlike our favorite color, there is an objectively best answer here. And it isn't based on either of our statistically insignificant experiences, but rather by those of someone like:

    Caliber for Daughter??

No experience with the 77gr TMK then? Your one experience trumps a thread full of them? And that's a really odd experience - a nearly decapitated deer trying to run off? Had a .243 nearly decapitated the deer, would it not have tried to run off? Or do you argue a .243 would have decapitated...

    Caliber for Daughter??

You've read the referenced thread, yeah? What was unconvincing? The killing evidence? Or don't you believe recoil impairs performance? I'm honestly curious.
