    ELD-X & ELD-M

After all the stuff written about these bullets, I now have two rifles set up with them and trued. One in 7mm-08 (162gr) and one in 243 (108gr). The 243 has been rebarreled with a 1:8 twist and is by far my favorite hunting rifle now. I haven’t shot anything with the ELDM but I’m all...

Has anyone figured out a hunting bipod yet?

Oh dude I have no idea lol. I’ve used both theirs & the Atlas, in different instances I’ve preferred each release mechanism. For instance the Atlas may be more positive/definite, but it has slowed me down when trying to deploy rapidly with my off hand. The Hatch was better in that regard bc I...

Has anyone figured out a hunting bipod yet?

Spoke to them the recently. Should have more cant in the prone position than it does now, release should be like the Atlas, they’re adding a 45-degree position in both directions, can’t remember if there were any other changes. As I understand it they’re waiting for the results of a discussion...

Has anyone figured out a hunting bipod yet?

I agree with the above. To clarify my previous post for anyone in the market, the Hatch is the best field bipod so far with respect to the sitting position. Yes it can be a one-and-done (anything that goes from 6-27” can), but it’s definitely finicky to use in the prone position compared to...

Has anyone figured out a hunting bipod yet?

Finally got my Hatch in, went out this past weekend to try it out. I’m a fan. I was testing a few different bipods as well as a couple tripod setups to see what I liked. I see what’s being said about the washer and it causing movement, but I was able to load into it just fine. Interestingly I...

.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

Sorry for the late response; how did it end up working out? Just got word my rebarreled Tikka is shipping tomorrow. I painted myself into a corner by buying all the components so just thought what the heck and sent it off. You’re spot on regarding that action. I got one on a whim a few years...

Has anyone figured out a hunting bipod yet?

Yeah now I’m going to go out & try the tripod thing again. When I said I didn’t like tripods, it’s because they take too long to set up. But, I was tossing a bag over them and constantly fidgeting with the height. The thought of using a plate just might make the difference…

Has anyone figured out a hunting bipod yet?

I’m in the market right now, and the Hatch is at the top of my list. My main goal is short setup time and the Hatch’s versatility is what makes me lean in that direction. I’ve never much liked bipods (or tripods) in the field for that reason, and I’ve been toying around with a bag setup but...

    swfa 3-9

Just got my first SWFA a month ago. Yes, the 3-9. Used the Wheeler level kit like I always do and my reticle was rotated clockwise as well. Since I already had a level on the barrel showing when the gun was level, I just hung a plumb bob and leveled the vertical line in the reticle to that...

.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

Hope so…but when I called the lady on the phone said all the Lites were 1:10. I nicely suggested they change that info on their website. Looked into yours just now, each place I checked that sells them shows 1:10. My advice? Bring a rod to check before taking it home.

.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

For all the guys waiting to hear about the Tikka T3X in 243…I finally measured it. It’s a 1:10” Called Beretta the next day to ask about it (now that I had an actual serial number) and confirmed with them that it’s a 1:10. So there ya have it, gents.

Mine’s arriving 1/17, I’ll measure as soon as it’s in my hands. Heck I’ll probably measure it at the FFL.

    SWFA, what’s the deal?

Wow, just came across this thread. You guys are making me feel pretty lucky. Ordered Saturday, said backorder, then called today just to ask some questions…the guy said mine shipped. Checked my email, I’ll have it tomorrow! @Formidilosus, just want to extend a thanks. I have always been a...

Should have it before the end of January; I’ll post the results as soon as I measure. Didn’t know there had been chatter…just looked, saw, and grabbed it lol. Fingers crossed!

.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

Its model number is JRTXB315. Says 1:8” twist on the Tikka website, I can measure its true twist once it arrives if anyone is curious. As far as where to find it, I just went to gun.deals and did a search. Ended up purchasing it from Dack Outdoors. Actually just searched right now and it seems...

Here’s the video. Apologies, I was going from memory. He had done the 243 in an earlier video and referred back to it along with several others.

.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

Didn’t open as much, less hydraulic shock, smaller temp cavity & permanent cavity. Wasn’t a super-drastic difference but the smaller cartridge outperformed it. Which I guess is the drastic difference lol. The fact that the 243 would’ve resulted in more damage and a faster kill than the 300...
