fun to consider. i think a 6.5CM with the right bullet. that big bullet would be more stable and carry good energy to it's target, be cheaper to shoot a lot of rounds through so you build up more confidence than a .300 win mag too. consider a folding stock gun like the sig cross and then up...

just bought a tikka t3x .300 win mag and put Sportsmatch TO84 lows for a 44mm obj lens leupold. fits perfect, maybe 3 mm between the barrel and the scope
just went through this analysis myself. ended up with a springfield 10mm xdm elite compact and 220 grain hardcast bullets. razco holster mounted below my AGC bino holder.
.17hmr, .223, 6.5CM, .300win mag, .50 muzzy is all I got and all I need. Quality over quantity and knowing the rifle/scope/bullet/dope combo for each really well is my goal.
