I'll be hunting in a National Forest come early archery mule deer season. As it so happens, I'll be working in the same state the week prior. I plan to go over to my unit to get some scouting in, but my ethics question is as follows:

We (being Americans) shoot match bullets exclusively through all of the sniper platforms overseas. I was told once by an instructor that we don't doubt match bullets on predators that shoot back, why would we doubt them on prey?
My setup is almost exactly as described above. I just rock the ol' STMs. The SLC15s cover the lions share of the work. Upgrade your binos and worry about spotter later.
I think the sentiment is more around publishing knowledge to live on the web forever with regards to unit specific questions from folks who are not part of the community at large. 2 folks chatting with each other is much different and I would tend to agree with you.

Hate to pile on late but I just saw several other threads relating what Matt Rinella has been preaching on and this really hits home. I despise any “influencer” hunter for poisoning what we do. Just hunt for yourself….
This. Are you required to return the tag? In my head I assume the coveted (i.e. anything but unlimited) sheep tags are numbered for cross reference by FWP.
