    Yeah, we tried some last year from a friend and it was delicious. We were busy with tags last year, but we want to try this year for sure if we have time. This guy was up off of hwy 80 towards hwy 20.

    We just started looking into bear hunting in CA last year. We are NV residents, and my 12 yr old really wants one. We will probably try it out this fall and see how things go. I would love a spring season that doesn't interfere with our other fall hunting though.

    Which youth rifle?

    That's what I went to after 22lr for my son. Patriot Bantam in 7mm-08. Doesn't kick much more than the 22 with 120 grain reduced recoil loads and can grow with them. Took a mule deer last year no problem with that load and you can load it up to heavier bullets for elk etc.

    I would say this is the best pros/cons argument. I would do 30-40-50. Then know where you hit from 30 in and you might have more time to dial from 50 out.

    I have always shot 3 blazers, but I am very tempted to try 4 heat vanes for this reason. Great discussion in this thread though.

    Anyone wish they didn’t fletch their own arrows?

    I have just found that my re-fletched arrows are not as durable as arrows I bought. I'm going to try some different glue, but I might try the easyvanes from above too. They look interesting.

    I am going to have to try that. I have used fletchtite and 2 part epoxy, but I keep loosing one here or there.

    I keep going back to Slick Trick Magnums and Magnus Stinger or Black Hornets as some of the top heads.
