Probably not the best bullet, but it has worked well for my kids. They shoot 7mm-08 and use the Hornady reduced recoil custom lite ammo shooting the 120 sst at 2750fps. Over the last 2 years they have taken 2 large mule deer and 5 whitetail. 80-242 yards all one shot done.
Ok, I decided to hold off and see if they come out with one. If not, hopefully the rifles will go back on sale for Memorial Day or something. I’m hoping for a 7mm prc with a threaded 22” barrel. Come on Tikka!
Sorry to hijack your post. The three I was looking at were the Browning x-bolt 2 (...
I had written them off and was about to order a Browning that is on Christmas sale. Now I’m fighting the urge to wait and see if they do come out with one in January.
This fits the bill too.

do some searches, this has been covered with other threads too. There is a Bergara vs Weatherby just this week with info.
We usually get mule deer and pronghorn tags within 1-3 hours of the house. We will sometimes do morning runs for the 3 hour drives, but usually will go hunt the night and spend the night, hunt the morning and come back. If its 1-2 hours I would rather sleep in my own bed than the back of the...
My dad shot a 270 win, so when my wife and I needed our first hunting rifle that’s what we chose. All 4 of these were taken with 130 core-lokt factory loads. Our Ruger American just likes them. From left to right 50 yards, 230 yards, 30 yards, 115 yards. All bullets were found against the...
This is a great way to look at it, and what I have been hearing a lot of lately. Pick what you want to hunt and the range you feel comfortable at. Pick a bullet and speed that gets you to a lethal shot on the game and distance and let that dictate the cartridges that will do the job. Pick the...
I really like the Wilderness Sierra. It has nice fit and finish. It does have an accuracy guarantee, but I would hate to hassle with that. I have never heard of a Browning that doesn’t shoot well. I’m stuck between the two.
I’m in the same boat but looking at the Bergara Wilderness Sierra in 7mm prc vs the Browning x-bolt 2 composite hunter in 7prc. A friend just got the Bergara wilderness carbon in 7 prc and has had no issues. I’m wondering if the bergara issues are on older firearms and possibly fixed? I see...
I should have started reading this 3 days before Black Friday. Most stuff is sold out of the good sizes and colors now. 😂
I’ll add my few on here.
Campingmoon stove I have used this stove for 2 years now. This is basically a SOTO Windmaster for 1/2 the price.
Wrangler pants are great. I have...
We killed 5 whitetail in Tx and froze the quarters and extra meat to put in coolers and bring back on the plane with us to Nevada. I processed them after we got home. No issues at all.
I’ve really been wanting to get one too, well I’ll change that to my 13 year old really wants one. We went and hiked around by Kirkwood off of 88 and glassed around. Didn’t see anything that day. We’ll figure it out one day.
I’ll second the YoLink. I have two sensors and a hub. One in the laundry room freezer and one in the garage. I get text and email when either goes out of spec.
