If your gun likes this combo why change it? You are just one of the few people I heard talk about these bullets. Personally I wouldn't change anything and keep up your shooting practices. Is the 565 comparable to H1000 or Retumbo?
I get it. I have a couple rifles I'm at peace with. I have been learning slowly and sometimes you'll keep chasing when it's not going to get there. I just learned that with one of my rifles a couple hundred dollars in bullets later.
Looking to get a lighter pull. Thinking about Jard triggers. I know everyone has there preference on pull weight and manufacturer. I'm thinking 1.5-2lbs would be better suited. What are y'all suggestions? I have about 2.5 and seems personally I could do a little lighter.
Why did you settle on. 7"? I would assume you could get tighter than that. Many people with burgers get around .3" at that distance? Unless your good with the .7" that's all that matters.
Your fact is your opinion. Thanks for giving your opinion and taking the thread off topic. You are more than welcomed to create your own thread about seating depths. This isn't the help I asked for.
I didn't catch the 650. That's not in my wheel house. Most I have heard and seen is 200 yards is pretty ideal when doing LD. To each their own. Where I live I am pretty limited. If I want to shoot over 200 yards, places around here charge $40 an hour to shoot at their long ranges which are up to...
I don't think that's completely true at all. We all have our own opinions. I know many competitor shooters work in .003 or .006 increments for seating depth. There is a difference and seating depth can make a difference. There's plenty of factors to pick from that can effect accuracy.
I agree with 2 shot groups at first. I'm not doing 3 anymore. You can find almost all you need to know with 2 shots when doing LD. As far as the jump thing off the lands, I'll be a little new to that. I've had a 257 weatherby forever.
Anyone have any loads with their 6.5PRC and 142 ABLR? Seeing if I can narrow it down a little more without wasting too much components. I have H1000, Magnum, and RE26 to try. I have both standard and magnum primers. Should I got with standard or magnum?
All weatherby magnums are like that. I have a 257 weatherby. You can play around with seating depths, but the weatherby like a little jump. The Freebore part is normal. You'll find something that shoots. Plenty of people have a 300 weatherby mag and can shoot 5-700 yards easily and relatively...
If your in a field or overlooking I'd go blind. It's all personal preference. I prefer hunting out of a blind for a few reasons. If weather comes your covered(imagine it starting to pour rain or just rain in general). It's more comfortable as far as room. And if you take a kid hunting, the blind...
I have been a 257 weatherby user for almost 10 years now. And this was my 1st bolt gun I got and gave to this day. I recently ordered a Browning XBOLT Pro in 6.5PRC. Not a big jump, but capability wise it meets all the standards.
I have reloaded barnes, nosler, and hammer bullets. In my opinion hammer bullets are not better or worse than the competition. This is my opinion. I'm not trashing hammer by any means. I get mid 3500fps running a 95g HHT in 257. I know that's not what you asked but that's the only hammer I got...
I just ordered a Browning xbolt pro in this caliber. This is the bullet I am going to try out first. Seems like it held up well. Are you reloading or using factory?
