Why you should not take equity out or dump your 401 K to take super expensive hunts.

Honestly, yes, strictly speaking from an early penalty and tax ramification perspective, I still feel that is a very poor choice. You’ll potentially have to take out 60k to get 30k and that’s just a bad financial decision (for most people). I believe if I was in a position to potentially have 6...

Why you should not take equity out or dump your 401 K to take super expensive hunts.

There are so many people that want to live like today might be their last day on planet earth. It’s almost as if they are surprised when they wake up the next day…… Lol Taking money from your 401(k) to fund hunting trips has got to be the stupidest thing I’ve ever read. But, everyone has...

CO Elk hunt — Let’s see some photos of rag horns

When you spend $800+ on a license and $1000+ on gas it makes it very hard for my group to pass on bulls. Even though some may call them rag horns we have been pickled tink to get them. We may never kill a herd bull. We are too busy killing bulls like these. I did pass up on this bull...

    Poacher

The amount of "wandering" people do is amazing. Also, multiple times, I have heard hunter's mention how the "elk don't know where the general season boundary lines are".....

What's something you wish you would have learned sooner in life

I would like to go back and take all of the money I spent on cigarettes, alcohol and women in the bars and invest that into the S&P500. I am doing fine, but had I done that, I would be on a much better tract to early retirement.

Anyone pulling an enclosed trailer with a midsize V6?

My buddy and I pulled the small enclosed trailer to Colorado from Pennsylvania with a Toyota tundra (the old body with small v8) one year and got if memory serves me right we got 6 1/2 miles to the gallon. At one point, I thought for sure we had a fuel leak. It seemed like every hour we were...

When did sights become so expensive?

I hear ya on the costs for sure. I have transferred my spot hog real deal .019 sight, ripcord rest, quiver and chubby doinker stabilizer from bow to bow due to the cost of things. No way am I paying 300$ for a bow sight..,,it ain’t happening. I only buy a new bow every 5-10 years or so.

Light vs Heavy Arrow real life trajectory experiment

I shoot about a 415 grain arrow at 70 pound draw because the difference between 25 yards and 35 yards isn’t a wounded animal….. Change that to a 650 grain arrow and you have major problems if you misjudged in the heat of the moment.

    Wire size to shop

I have 4/0 aluminum underground wire and 100 amps service to my garage. I am about 130 feet run to my garage sub-panel. I don't experience any flicker when I weld, or the air compressor kicks on in the garage. I am pretty happy with it.
