I love the idea of folding stock, suppressed short barrel that rocks 0-300yards.
I just bought the opposite end of the spectrum 6.8 Grendel ruger American ranch rifle. 16.1" barrel. Super light, no recoil under 300 yards gun. I'd still rather hit a deer with a 338 round though.
My dad's friend uses a 338 Winchester at deer camp. I thought, MAN that's over-doing it. But....if it puts a 1/2" hole through the lungs/heart and blows a huge hole out the other side of the rib cage (on a broadside shot), who cares. Deer will either drop or leave a big blood trail.
the 8.9...
That's what I thought. Too much twist and a jacketed bullet will come apart.
That new 8.9 Blackout has a 1:3 twist, yes 1:3, not a typo. looks like a threaded barrel.
Anyways, they have to be bonded or mono.
My 7saum project is back on!
I've secured 4-6 boxes of ADG 7saum brass. Once they come in, i'll mock up some dumby rounds and send the barreled action and new barrel out. Exciting!
It depends on the bc of the bullet, if you can push them fast enough to overcome the decrease in bc. And I've been hearing hammers don't list an accurate bc on their site.
well it'll be a while until I decide on a caliber now. ADG released some 7 saum brass today, and the site that i've been checking all day sold out in 15 minutes or less while I was reading a bedtime story to my son.
