    New dead sea scrolls

Spend $5 and pick up 5 copies. In 10, 15, 25 years you might not be able to and in 50 your children might need to know this information.... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0880801441/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    Wilderness First Responder Class

Did NOLS WEMT almost 20 years ago. It was a good course for me considering I didn't know that much. For just personal use, I wouldn't recommend it. Too much money for the return - my employer paid at the time. Honestly the best part of it was working in an emergency room a few nights. Also...

    Overlanding Rig for Hunting?

Actually - your first post prompted me to check national gas prices, and you are right - they are higher than I knew/expected. I drive so little these days (work from home) that I hardly ever seem to buy gas and am out of touch with where it is at!! Was surprised to see several places in the...

    Overlanding Rig for Hunting?

"before gas prices started their meteoric climb to the top of the daily consumables budget...." ?? Huh? How old are you? Gas is like $2.50 a gallon. I think around 2007 or so it was bout $4.00 - 5.00 a gallon. A year ago, gas was nearly as cheap as it was 25 years ago! Nice truck...

Damn! Both Hagler and Hearns tearing it up. I'd forgotten how good it was in the good old days.

Montana Legislature effecting hunting in bad way

Not much love from me for outfitters getting choice licenses on federal land that I pay taxes for. How about they just make all licenses go into one pot, and after you get one, you can either DIY or hire an outfitter. The good outfitters bubble to the top, the others go out business. And if I...

    Tires For F150

I just put a set of BFG MT's on a 4runner. I've got them on my scrambler but I don't hardly drive it anymore and forgot how awesome the old MT is. Noting cleans out like an MT. I've also got Hankook Dynapro MT's on my F-350 dually and I really like them. They are E rated.

Truck Breaking Down in the Backcountry

Buddy and I heading to the Easter Jeep Safari in Moab 20 years ago. Big Winnebago RV, transmission went out on the way from Phoenix to Cortez CO. Limped in 1st gear to closest town - Kayenta AZ. Took about 1/2 hour of asking folks how long to fix to realize that there was no transmission ever...

Truck Breaking Down in the Backcountry

VW wagon that ran out of oil? What's the point in towing that out? Better off to pile some brush around it, light it up and tell the cops someone stole it.

    Building a home shop

CNC and Manual Lathes and milling machines, at least a two post lift, 30 CFM minimum compressor, Tig and Mig welders, engine hoist, couple of large rolling tool boxes, maybe a three phase converter depending on power availabilityTooling for all of the above, and a metric shitpile of hand and...

The fog in the background is awesome, seems to add to the DOF. The yellow of the grass and cactus against the nearly BW background is fantastic.

Recourse for undisclosed issues in home purchase?

This. Get over the freezing issue, but you need to deal with the water use issue. You now know about it and will need to disclose it in a future sale and I wouldn't touch a house with that kind weird deal. Leave the neighbor out of it, but maybe explain why you can't have that kind of a...

    Creepy experiences in the backcountry

The above ^^^^ post reminded me: I was on a ship going from Dutch Harbor to Hawaii, or possibly Hawaii to New Zealand. It was a nice evening/night and I went up on the bow to take in the air and the ocean. I looked over into the water and as the ship cut through the water, these bright...
