Haha. I do have a passion for the best. But actually this test was the lowest price model of the Bishops—their Pipeline series. The cost is about the same as the Montecs. The S7 Tool Steel in the top of the line Bishops would be no comparison at all. The Montecs did better than I thought they...
Haha. You are right. And they know it. The owner and designer is a genius with design and production...but he knows he's terrible at web development. And since the company is so grass roots, then spend zero money on advertising and have no full time employees. They are just barely breaking even...
I thought I'd make a short video of my very favorite gear that attaches to my bow. This gear is field tested and proven on some really hard core hunts. I'm not paid by any of these companies; it's just the gear that has done me well. Check it out:

I have liked a lot of things about the new G5 Deadmeat head, so I decided to test it further. Specifically, I wanted to see how well it opened on impact and what the actual cutting diameter really is. Check out this short video to see the test:

If that's the case, and you are hitting consistently in that area, then it is either a spine issue or a tuning issue. Your field tips are more forgiving so they will not reveal such problems. Helix heads fly very well, so you can be sure it's not the head. I would first check the spine charts...
I put in for a Nanny here in CO, just because they are easier tags to draw and it is pretty hard to even tell the difference in a mount...unless you know your business. Thankfully, I drew it this year and am hoping to score in Mid Oct.
I was fortunate enough to get a Mt Goat tag here in CO--YAY! I am so excited. Someone returned one and apparently I was next on the list.
The tag is for a Nanny. They average only about 120 pounds.
Given the super high terrain, often windy conditions, and small body, I would think a quality...

Wow, that is kind of strange. So sorry for your experience. I've typically considered black bears as fairly easy to pass through, unless you hit the shoulder. The Viper Tricks are a good option. But you also may want to consider a three blade for even better penetration, or even a two blade if...
I've been intrigued by this new head from G5 and finally got a chance to do a simple test of it against some plywood. Check out the short video review:

That's true for the older models; not sure if it is for the newer ones since Bloodsport acquired them. It may be, but I'm not sure. For the old models, the aluminums also had a colored ferrule. And yes, those aluminum ferrules did break at times. I've seen it happen on a hog.

I decided to do a simple test of my three favorite mechanical broadheads: NAP Killzone, Rage Hypodermic, and Bloodsport Gravedigger. Check out the short video:

I recently got a QAD MXT, micro tune. I can't say enough good about it! The adjustment knob clicks when you turn it. One click equals moving the rest 1.9/10,000 of an inch. Wow! Talk about easy to tune my bow. It costs about $75 more than the Ultra Rest HDX, but is well worth it in my book.
So I saved up and broke down and got a new QAD MXT rest. They are the super micro adjustable version of the Ultra Rest HDX. One click of the knob and your rest moves 1.9 thousandths of an inch! Talk about making tiny adjustments easy. I could never tinker with my rest like that before; seems I...
I just post about gear and gadgets I like, especially broadheads. Check my posts and YouTube Channel--lots about Exodus and A-TACs as well. As for cutting diameter, everything is a tradeoff. I really like 1 1/8" cutting diameter for elk, as it is balances penetration, durability, and long...
