    200 yard grouping

I mounted the scope and torqued it to Browning and Talley's specs. Tally said 18-20 in\lbs on the rings, think I did 18, I bump it up to 20. Yes, the action bolts are torqued. I adjusted the trigger and torqued the action screws to 45 in\lbs. I did have a better grouping at 100 yards with...

    200 yard grouping

Tried the American Whitetail. It gave me okay groups. Haven’t tried the Barnes yet but it’s on my list. I have two boxes or 140 grain Nosler Accubonds coming this week to test. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

    200 yard grouping

I'm pretty confident that the 200 yard group is due to the person pulling the trigger, not the gun. But I have a buddy I can go shoot with that is a competent shooter, so I'll have him test it out as well the next time we go shoot.

    200 yard grouping

I'm not satisfied with them in the sense of being ready to go out and kill something at 300 yards or more. But as a new shooter, I'm pretty happy with them and know that there is room for improvement. I don't reload so I'm stuck using factory ammo. I tested out 4-5 different ones that I could...

7mm-08- VX3 2-10x40 .300 Win Mag- VX5 3-15x44 Shooting off bench with bags Both rifles trigger pull was about 4.5 lbs or more from the factory. I got both down to about 3 lbs. I may be able to get them sub 3lbs with the factory spring, but most likely need to get a MCARBO spring to get it to...

    200 yard grouping

The 7mm-08, I don't really have the intention of shooting past 300 yards with it as it is my deer\pig rifle most likely won't have more than a 200 yard shot most of the time anyway. So wanting to keep that as a kind of set it and forget it rifle. It is wearing a Leupold VX-3 2-10x40. Still...

    200 yard grouping

Yes, that's the way that I have been told to zero in the past. Again. I know the 200-yard needs work, I am a beginner shooter with a bolt gun and that was maybe my 5th or 6th time shooting one as well as my first time shooting past 100 yards. I have experience shooting pistols and AR-15's...

    200 yard grouping

Wasn't trying to get it to the bullseye, the goal was to be between 1.5" and 2" high at 100 yards.

    200 yard grouping

The circled rounds were the first three shots with that specific ammunition, isn't that about a one moa group? The next three shots had individual windage and elevation adjustments to get the round where I wanted it. I'm a novice shooter and don't claim to be a sub moa shooter.

    200 yard grouping

So The three that are touching, were the first three out of the gun with that bullet. The next three on are after making windage and elevation adjustments after each shot.

    200 yard grouping

I was aiming for about an 1.5 off center for when I could get out to a 200 yard range. The three that are touching were my first three shots. The next three were after making elevation and windage adjustments.

    200 yard grouping

I have two rifles, both X-Bolts, one is a 7mm-08 and the other is a .300 Win Mag. The 7mm-08 is going to be mainly my deer rifle. The .300 Win Mag is my big game\western rifle. I am a pretty novice rifle shooter and know I need to practice more to get comfortable at longer ranges, as of right...

    .300 win mag ammo

I am shooting at different spots for each different brand or bullet. As far as barrel cooling, I’ll shoot 1 and check the barrel by resting my wrist on it. If I can hold it there for 20 seconds, I’ll shoot another. If not, I stop until I can. Rinse and repeat until I’m done. It was a four...

    .300 win mag ammo

So, the terminal ascents are the ones I’m gonna go with. The three that are touching are prior to making any adjustments to the scope. Lowest of the next three was after making a windage adjustment. The next two are moving the elevation a click on each round. This is at 100 yards. Sent from...

This is a long shot but throwing it out there. I am wanting to order a couple CDS dials for my rifles but don't have access to a chronograph.
