I don’t think you really need much expansion with the 375. It’s already going to punch a big hole. I would start by putting some of the starting loads of either of the 4895s, around 67-68grs and see how that is and then drop down from there. You want to stay above about 45gr for the 230gr...
No load data for the 30 Nosler at all in there, not even the venerable 27 Nosler ;). I think the 30 Nosler competes with their 300PRC. Nosler says 88gr H2O for 210 ABLR with 30PRC & 87.3gr for 30Nos. When I run it in QuickLoad it is even closer. 86.408gr H2O vs. 84.688gr H2O, respectively, so...
I see. I run a Mac but use VirtualBox to run windows. I think it is easier than Parallels or any of the options they have. I think QuickLoad is easier than GRT. Just get a USB DVD player. Once you have QL installed you don’t need the DVD to run it. Or pick up a cheap used Dell windows laptop...
I don’t see 30 Nos. in the 11th or 10th editions, or the website in errata or new. They probably aren’t going to boost a competing product. Hodgdon has the 210 ABLR and the 220 ELD-X. That should give you some guardrails.
Kind of depends, but no harm to check the brass out if you have it. Weigh it to see how consistent the weights are, inspect the primer pockets with go/nogo gauge, measure the lengths, etc. I wouldn’t probably do it for competition, but for hunting and plinking it might be fine.
I was referring to the 7mm 175gr TSX FB, pn# 30294. It would be about the heaviest one could push within the range that op stated. I started out thinking faster was better with monos, but shooting in the wind changed my mind on that, which is to say I’m just not a good shot in the field in the...
Treat it like a validated data set. The book is a set of results from tests performed by a very trustworthy source. Your results may not match, but now you have two data sets to compare. @wind gypsy is spot on, lots of variables. What you have now is another data set to use with the book and you...
I think it is very safe to say that manufacturers are basing their max loads on a much larger data set than yours. While your data 📊 might be providing different results so far, there may come a point when that fails. That’s why you start low. There are other data points that you can use, but...
I picked one of these up and really like it. Well balanced and That Mac Bros action is nice. It’s a good shooter. I loaded up some 130gr TTSX for it and shot those, factory ABLRs and some Nosler 150gr partitions. Everything shoots well. I have some 170 EOLs that I have on the to-try list as well...
Also, you can always email Barnes customer support and ask them. I had gotten some of their new 35 rem hollow-point bullets that they didn’t have load data for and they said to just use starting load for a JSP of the same weight.
“can I assume the charge for the 4350, would be similar to that listed for the RL 17 for the 95”
Not based on that alone. I don’t think I would really use another powder as reference, it’s too much work. Take a look at Hodgdon’s site and/or manual and you will get more data points to help guide...
@cjdewese just wanted to see if you have considered possibility of getting a new barrel with a custom throat and fast twist, maybe do an AI even. Just something to think about before spending on components and time.
