    30-06 Accuracy Loads???

Before going out hunting this season, took, my load to the range. Fired a single shot at 200 yards. POI was 1" low of POA. No rear rest, front rest was using my folding chair. So still 0.5 MOA.

If you had to start over....

Probably would have skipped the Lee classic loader and got a press. I would have kept the Lee press for decapping. Would go straight for Redding Die Wax. Would have started with new, quality brass.

    Hornady CX experiences?

Any updates from anyone using CXs? Thinking about trying some 150s in 7-08 and 80s in 243.

    Update Message from Midway

🙄 there’s RL16 and some others for sale right now. RL19 and RL25 were available in the last several months. Seems like they are rotating through batches of specific powders.

    H414 to Win760 in 7-08?

Hodgdon shows them as being the same. Not sure why Hornady is listing them differently.

Too bad they don’t have Grand on there. It looks like it’s about 100fps faster than HD.

Some more FNG .338 win questions - crimping

That is worth checking as well. Try just seating one is a sized case and then try and push it in by hand, or tapping it on the bench, and if you have a kinetic puller, see how many whacks it takes to get it out. Do that without the crimping just to see how well it is holding. You could also size...

Some more FNG .338 win questions - crimping

I was thinking more recoil due to more pressure.

Some more FNG .338 win questions - crimping

I’ve seen a lot of posts saying if neck tension is good crimp is not necessary. The way you’re describing it sounds like it might be too much. It should barely be visible. If it’s too heavy of a crimp, could be getting more pressure than expected. That could account for the discrepancy in...

    Barnes 160 LRX in 7PRC

You could contact their customer service and see if they have anything, but I did not see it on the site either. From QuickLoad, it looks like N560 would be pretty good. I think the Hornady 160CX load data would also be a good start, but I did not look at how the bullet profiles stack up to...

Another question on my Wifes 7mm-08

I don't remember where I saw that mentioned now, but it seems to hold up in everything I have read about reduced loads. The Lee Modern Reloading 2nd Edition has a section devoted to reduced load development. Between the Lee book and the Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook, there is quite a lot of data...

    It’s for IMR4895 also.

What companies ship ammo to Alaska?

You need to ship it to them via UPS or FedEx.

Another question on my Wifes 7mm-08

I'm still curious how you got 120gr .284 SSTs. I don't see them as an option anywhere. Did you get them as pulls? On the reduced loads, it looks like the MV on the Hornady ammo is 2,676. IMR 3031 would be my top choice for replicating it. High burn rate, high velocity compared to PSI, and...

Another question on my Wifes 7mm-08

Just want to check something here @Luked. I don’t see a .284 120gr SST in the Hornady app. The two projectiles they have are not the SST. If that is where you’re finding that book measurement of 2.700, then I’m guessing it is for a different projectile than the SST. The load data for those...

    Beginner reloading set up A-Z

I would start with the first few threads in these results. Google seems to return better results than the forum search. https://www.google.com/search?q=rokslide+beginner+reloading+setup+site:rokslide.com

Rockslide Appoved 375 Ruger Load (lower recoil).

They are close, not interchangeable but H4895 is just the one everyone knows about. This is a really good reference to see some other data: https://archive.org/details/LymanCastBulletHandbook3rdEdition1980Ocr
