I have them rigged with 6lb mono. I have a full panther arsenal and some small cast masters. I will need to do some home work on rigging a slip float/nymphs and wooly boogers. (I am pretty basic on the fishing, but really appreciate the direction on upping our game). Thanks for the replies...
Taking the family on a trek through Co and Ut for the next few weeks. Wanted to reach out to the community on some pointers for catching cutthroat trout, in the Co high country lakes. I have seen fish in the body of water we will be fishing. Water is at treeline, and spinning tackle will be used...
I think mine are 3 years old now. They are really holding up well. My only beef is on wet rocks, they sole is probably too hard, and can be slick. They took a little to break in the uppers. They creaked a little at the beginning. I have not seen a comparable boot for the price. My .02

Thanks guys for all of the replies. I will get forester for what I can, but they have been difficult to find in some calibers.

What are preferences on dies and seaters these days? Just got a Forester coax, and need to get some dies for it. Wanted to check in and see if there is a go to, or something to stay away from. Loading for hunting, and practice. No real long range shooting (practice out to 5 or 600 max) Just want...
I ordered one in February and still don't have it. Tried switching my order to this batch of the blued version and they were sold out by the time they got around to replying. Should have just purchased and got a refund on the stainless version...

I think of the 97 as more of a midlayer. In my opinion it is one of kuiu's best pieces. In my system, the 2 pieces serve a different use.

I have been impressed with 200 grain accubonds. Like has been said on this thread though, many bullets from many manufacturers have put lots of bulls on the dirt. My elk hunting mentors are very dedicated to nosler ballistic tips. I was guilty of turning my nose up, but they have filled many...
Great boot for the money. Had mine for 3 years. Narrow euro style last. They run a little Narrow. They hold up better than my Lowa boots that cost twice that much.

Crazy creek is a nice option. Doubles as extra padding/insulation under my inflatable. 24 oz., but the stays in it make it super comfortable. Nice to have back support and be able to lean back. Can be used in a tent and don't have to worry about a leg tearing your floor.

It will be difficult finding Goex. They closed the plant last summer, and it quickly disappeared shortly after. Swiss or German stuff are your best options. If using Swiss, cut your load about 10%. Good rule of thumb I was taught, was hunting load is 1 grain of powder for .01 of caliber, in...
2nd season Co. 3rd day at 5 p.m. he ripped a bugle back at my cow call. He was within 100 yds. Climbed out of the steep little drainage I was in, and he was looking at me 60 yds away. Put 2 in him and saw him pile up 100 yds away. Always fun how fast things can play out, when the hunt is feeling...
There are various thickness chains. Measure clearance with steering turned full in each direction. You can mold fender wells with a heat gun if needed. I have driven trucks that you couldn't go to the steering stops, or it would rub. Just had to drive accordingly. Not ideal, but worked fine...
The good thing is, it's your truck, your kit, your leading the program. Stick with your program. Give him waypoints to meet you at if he can't keep up. Don't be rude to him, but don't allow is lack of preparation hold you back. He might tap out yet too... Good luck out there!
