A long while back I got a batch of brass that had off center flash holes. Was having the same issue. I sent pictures to the mfg. and later shipped them the brass for an exchange.
Haven't had any real issues since that wasn't due to my inattention to the die getting loose.
Either of the smaller two, less recoil tends to produce the best accuracy.
The bullets chosen are what does the work, so with that in mind, which one produces the wound characteristics best at the distance you plan as your max range? What do they do close in? Would a different bullet cover...
Other calibers work better? In your experience.
After stating you've "been thinking about using a .223" , you've decided based on your experience, that other calibers work better.
Now you've added length to the thread, without contribution, and made the decision based on your experience, that...
I've relocated a few times for work. One of my previous jobs had me traveling a lot so I've been in most all the western states, a handful in Midwest, and a few in the South. I've also worked out of the USA, mostly Central & South America.
I can find things I like about most places, but...
The 62gr Barnes isn't very stable if at all out of the 1:12, it's long.
The better choice would be 64gr Win PP, Nosler bsb, or the 50gr Barnes TTSX. But none of these give the same reach as the 77gr TMK
It isn't just bullet weight, but bullets of equal construction, out of the same cartridge, the heavier one has more mass so a higher sectional density, and it will penetrate deeper.
Bullet choice is probably the most important part of deciding what to use.
If you've thinned the herd, how far do new prospect need to come?
Are the retirees pet owners, snow birds, pretendfarmers?
You may need to let it rest a bit, depending on how likely other animals are to move in / through.
If you go out there at sunset and just after are the coyotes talking...
Terminal ballistics matter, wound channels matter. Energy numbers, Taylor knock out formulas, "horse power" doesn't. It really is that simple.
Bullet choice matters way more than what launched it. If you pick a bullet that needs a lot of velocity to work well, and then use it out of a...
How often are you hitting that one spot?
How far away is the next area they could come from?
I dad wrote a book on calling coyotes back when books were still a thing. There's been some good stuff shared already, but one thing that I think makes a big difference is approach and concealment...
I'm surprised that you didn't get the advice on the first page to spend money on a different scope before all else.
In all seriousness, you could pick about any cartridge that will carry about 1800 fps to 600 yards with the bullet you choose, and it would work fine. The rifle/scope need to be...
When wives get involved in ccw it's a whole different thing. Mine has been reluctant for a long time, but just went to class and is getting hers.
My wife wanted a Sig 938 first. She did ok with it but didn't like it. She decided she liked M&P 2.0 better than my G19, p365, or any of several...
Never mind buying gunpowder.
You better be braced for economic collapse. We're far past the tipping point of self destruction and economists have been warning the fed reserve is propping up the economy with smoke and mirrors.
Why is this sitting administration send our money to the Ukraine...
I used to travel A LOT for work, several trips a month, many connecting flights, even in/out of the country. Customs still had greasy palms in Central America, but TSA was the worst to deal with. I hate power trippin' minimum wage earning tuffs.
I traveled a couple days after 9/11 for a hunt...
I think I have one that's a couple years older, it's not 1:10 for sure. I think mine is 1:12.
The best I've used on deer is 64gr WW PowerPoint, or 64gr Nosler bsb. I do have 50gr ttsx loaded right now but have not killed anything big with them.
Mine is very accurate with 45gr tsx and the 50gr...
A couple things I'll add. Really big machines have more power but burn more fuel. Get heated grips if you hunt in the winter. When you don't have a winch you'll need it, and have a snatch block or two for redirecting. I think a 350 - 400 ish is decent size and smaller in the bed of the pickup...
I'm not nice to sunglasses so I've been buying Shady Ray's the last few years. For cutting glare or hunting in the snow they work great and I don't feel bad when I need to get out another pair. Usually buy them two or three at a time.
If I was serious about perfect fishing Eyewear I may go to...
This happened close to me. They eventually dropped the charges but it started out with him being charged with a felony, then reduced, eventually dropped.
